Conal is a fun-loving 22 year old metalhead and a leather jacket wearing badass鈥� who happens to have Down鈥檚 Syndrome.
Outgoing and cheeky, Conal is a bit of a trouble-maker, but knows he can chance his arm and get away with it because of his condition. He’s not afraid to take advantage of that fact, claiming to not be able to understand or do things that he doesn't want to, despite being more than capable.
He feels smothered by his overbearing, highly strung mother.
Conal lives a pretty charmed life, but fears it’s all coming to an end. He feels smothered by his overbearing, highly strung mother Fionnuala, who is forcing him to get his first job. After a few years of taking it easy, doing some part time courses in tech and playing video games, he’s not quite ready to move on and grow up.
So Conal has a plan. Inspired by the legend of his Mum and Dad’s old band, Conal is going to skip the job interview, bust his little sister Gemma out of school and hit the road to see a gig. Gemma and Fionnuala won’t approve, but nothing is more important to Conal. Rock and Roll!
