Ö÷²¥´óÐã Cardiff Singer of the World and Song Prize competitor
Etienne Dupuis completed his voice studies at McGill University, where he appeared in Les contes d'Hoffmann, La Calisto and L'elisir d'amore. He studied with Cesar Ulloa and Winston Purdy, and in 2007 was a finalist in the Montreal International Musical Competition.
As a member of l'Atelier Lyrique de l'Opéra de Montréal, he performed Escamillo and Dancaïre Carmen and Peter Hänsel und Gretel. Etienne has sung frequently with l'Opéra de Montréal, including roles in Rigoletto, Die Zauberflöte and La bohème.
He has performed Lescaut (Manon Lescaut) at New Israeli Opera, Bob (The Old Maid) and the Thief with I Musici of Montreal, Marcello (La bohème) with l'Opéra de Québec, Papageno (Die Zauberflöte) with Vancouver Opera and l'Opéra de Tours, Mercutio (Roméo et Juliette) for l'Opéra de Québec and Hawaii Opera Theatre, and Figaro Il barbiere di Siviglia at l'Opéra de Marseille.
In 2008, Etienne was Johnny Rockfort in the operatic version of Starmania for l'Opéra de Québec, reprising the role in Montreal in March 2009. Other roles in 2009 include Silvano (Un ballo in maschera) with l'Opéra de Paris and Silvio Pagliacci for Opéra de Montréal.
Etienne enjoys cinema and dance, and spending time with friends and family when he is at home.
