The 2011 festival features the bicentenary of the birth of Franz Liszt, and highlights John Orlando Parry, the Welshman who travelled with Liszt on his tours of the UK and Ireland. Artists include The Cardinall's Musick, The King's Singers, London Baroque, Craig Ogden, Llyr Williams, the Escher String Quartet and Mahan Esfahani. At Gregynog Hall, near Newtown, Powys.

The festival takes place at midsummer in the 12th century church, St Michael and All Angels. Lower Machen is between Newport and Caerphilly.

4-10 July 2011
Held at the Royal International Pavilion in Llangollen, the event attracts musicians and dancers from all over the world. Special guests this year include Lulu, Russell Watson, Julian Lloyd-Webber, Ruthie Henshall and McFly.

8-16 July 2011
A very popular part of the Cardiff Festival, the Welsh Proms take place in St David's Hall, Cardiff. This year, the opening concert is given by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in a concert of popular classics, conducted by Welsh Proms founder, Owain Arwel Hughes. The festival continues with a wide range of events, including guitar, organ and brass and voices concerts and the Family Prom and Tiddly Prom, before the Orchestra of Welsh National Opera plays in the Last Night. There is also a wide range of fringe events in the L3 Lounge at St David's Hall.

The 2011 Festival features many UK premieres of Lithuanian music, with Zita Bruzaite, one of Lithuania's leading composers, as a featured artist-in-residence. Other highlights include a survey of the music of composer-in-residence Joseph Phibbs, mini-features on Bartók and Shostakovich and a musical celebration for Cecilia McDowall's sixtieth birthday year. The festival also holds a competition for composers.

6-10 September 2011
Music from contemporary composers, held in venues including St Donat's Castle, St Augustine's, Penarth, Hoddinott Hall in Cardiff Bay and Ewenny Priory.

24 September-4 October 2011
The festival takes place in St Asaph Festival and features orchestras, choirs and soloists.

8-22 October 2011
Venues include the Brangwyn Hall, St Mary's Church, Grand Theatre and Taliesin Arts Centre. Events to be announced in spring 2011.

Events are held at Brecon Cathedral and Theatr Brecheiniog. Performers include Ensemble Meridiana, the Welsh Baroque Orchestra conducted by Andrew Wilson-Dickson, Johannes Pramsohler, Bojan Cicic, Sabine Stoffer, Elin Manahan Thomas, Sian Winstanley, Alexandra Bellamy, Katy Bircher, Alison McGillivray and festival director Rachel Podger.

Late March
Run in association with Bangor University's music school, the Artistic Director is composer Guto Pryderi Puw. The festival focuses on the latest of contemporary trends, commissioning works and involving schools and the general public in workshops and performances.
