    Areas affected: Wye Estuary at Brockweir

    Flooding is expected - immediate action required

    A flood warning has been issued as high tides are expected over the next 2 days with tides peaking this evening Thursday 19/09/2024. High Tides may impact properties and roads including garages at Brockweir.
    Predicted peaks.

    Newport 7.4m to 7.7m at 21:00 on 19/09/2024 and 7.1m to 7.4m at 09:30 on 20/09/2024.
    Avonmouth Portbury 7.9 to 8.1m at 21:15 on 21/08/2024 and 7.5 to 7.7m at 09:30 on 20/09/2024.

    High water conditions may apply a few hours either side of the high tide. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences. Please avoid contact with flood water.

    Flooding is expected - immediate action required

    Higher than normal tides and wave overtopping are expected to cause flooding tomorrow morning.
    Flooding is possible between 5:15 AM and 7:15AM on Friday 20/09/2024.
    Areas most at risk are coastal roads and footpaths along Hornsea seafront, along with properties and businesses on Marine Drive, along South Promenade, Hornsea Burton Road and along Stream Dike and Foss Beck.
    Tide levels will remain high for the couple of days. We currently expect this warning to be in force for the morning tides on Saturday and Sunday as well. However, we will continue to monitor the situation and update this message accordingly.
    We are closing flood gates in the area.
    Be careful along beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous.

    Flooding is possible over the high tides on Thursday and Friday evenings. High water at Plymouth on Thursday is at 7.30pm, times of high water will vary along the coast.
    We expect flooding to affect low-lying areas and communities in the Erme, Avon, Kingsbridge, Dart, Teign and Exe Estuaries.
    People are advised to stay away from risk areas and take care next to the coast.

    Flooding is possible over the high tide on Thursday evening due to high spring tides. High water at Ilfracombe is at 7.45pm, times of high water will vary along the coast. Flooding is expected over the high tides on Thursday evening and Friday morning and evening.
    We expect flooding to affect coastal and tidal areas between Hartland Point and Lynmouth, including the Taw Torridge Estuary.
    People are advised to stay away from risk areas and take care next to the coast. We will continue to monitor the situation and issue updates as required.

    Detailed tidal information for those who use it; The forecast high tide level at Ilfracombe is 5.34 mAOD, this is 0.06 metres below astronomical tide level.

    We are expecting higher than normal tides over the next two days and as a result we may issue further flood alerts and warnings.
    Areas most at risk include riverside footpaths and low lying land and roads.

    Areas affected: Tidal Trent for riverside areas from Gainsborough to the Humber confluence

    River levels are forecast to rise at the Keadby river gauge as a result of high spring tides coinciding with high river levels. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is possible this morning, 19/09/2024 and tomorrow morning, 20/09/2024. The time of the forecast high tide tomorrow morning is at 08:15, however flooding conditions may apply in the hours either side of high tide.
    Please avoid using low-lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low-lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. To check the status of road closures online, please visit the One Network live map. This message will be updated by 08:00 tomorrow morning, 20/09/24, or as the situation changes.

    Areas affected: Coast at North Morecambe Bay

    Flooding is possible - be prepared

    Due to the continuing period of spring tides, higher than normal tides today may lead to flooding of roads and footpaths near the coast. No property flooding is expected. The highest tide level is expected to be at Coast at North Morecambe Bay with the Sandside area at particular risk. Nearby low lying locations may also be affected, from Roosebeck to Carnforth including low lying areas around Ulverston, Greenodd, Haverthwaite, Flookburgh, Grange-over-Sands, Levens, Milnthorpe, Sandside, Arnside and Silverdale between 10:00 AM and 02:00 PM today 19/09/2024. The next high tide, at midnight tonight, is also expected to be above the flood alert threshold. We have closed flood gates at Arnside promenade and these will remain closed throughout the high tide cycle (until Sunday 22/09/2024).
    Be careful along beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads, as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous.

    Areas affected: Tidal Thames riverside from Putney Bridge to Teddington Weir

    Flooding is possible - be prepared

    River levels are expected to be high as a result of spring tides.

    The forecast high tide at Richmond is 4.63 mAOD at 04:15 on 19/09/2024 and 4.49 mAOD at 16:15 on 19/09/2024.

    Flooding of low-lying roads and footpaths is expected, which may exist for one to two hours either side of high tide. Flooding of properties is not expected.

    We believe there is a possibility of flooding for Putney Embankment (SW15), Chiswick Mall and Strand on the Green (W4), Thames Bank at Mortlake (SW14), Ranelagh Drive (TW1), Friars Lane and Water Lane (TW9), Riverside and The Embankment at Twickenham, and the Towpath below Teddington Lock.

    Astronomical tide levels are rising. The river flow at Teddington Weir is high for this time of year at 20 cubic metres per second and is steady. We anticipate the flows to remain normal for the next few days.

    Flooding of roads and low lying land is possible, but property flooding is not expected. Areas most at risk include the coastline between Gore Point and Hurlstone Point including Porlock Weir.
    The detailed tidal forecast for those who use it is for a peak level at Hinkley Point. The first forecast high water is at 8:00 PM on Wednesday 18/09/2024 with a level of 6.51 mAODN with North-Easterly force 4 winds. The second forecast high water is at 8:30 AM on Thursday 19/09/2024 with a level of 6.29 mAODN with North-Easterly force 4 winds. (mAODN is height above average sea level.)

    This flood alert is likely to remain in force up to and including the high tide at 10 PM on Saturday evening, 21/09/2024 but no property flooding is expected.
    We are closely monitoring the situation and closing flood gates.
    Stay away from beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads in and around Porlock Weir as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous.

    This Flood Alert has been issued due to the high tide forecast in the early hours of tomorrow morning, 19/09/2024.
    Flooding is possible of low-lying lands and roads at the following locations:
    Fiddlers Ferry, between 00:45 and 01:45
    Eastford Road, between 01:15 and 02:15
    Arpley Bridge, between 01:30 and 02:30
    We currently do not anticipate the Flood Alert level to be met during the next high tide around midday tomorrow. However, we are expecting the Flood Alert to be met during the early hours of the morning on Friday and Saturday.
    Our incident rooms are on standby and we are closely monitoring the situation.
    Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water.

    A large tidal surge is expected with possible overtopping and onshore flooding as a result of high water levels. The time and date of the first forecast high water is 19:30 on 18/09/2024. The forecast tide level is 7.62 m AOD. The forecast wind strength and direction is Force 5 in a north east direction. The time and date of the second forecast high water is 08:00 on 19/09/2024. The forecast tide level is 7.42 m AOD. The forecast wind strength and direction is Force 6 in a north east direction. There is a possibility of flooding for the tidal River Avon from Sea Mills to Conham, and between the Avonmouth Bridge and Shirehamption Park, including Pill and Shirehampton.

    Our operation teams are closing flood gates in the Pill and Shirehampton area.
    Be careful along beaches, promenades and coastal footpaths and roads.
    Please note all tide times are in local time and are using the 24 hour clock and refer to the high water time at Avonmouth.

    A flood alert has been issued due to high spring tides. Consequently, flooding is expected for the duration of the high tides between 18/09/2024 and 22/09/2024. High water conditions may apply for an hour either side of high tide. Flooding may affect low lying land and roads adjacent the Wye Estuary from Redbrook to Chepstow.
    Predicted peaks.
    Newport 7.2m to 7.4m at 20:15 on 18/09/2024 and 7.0m to 7.3m at 08:45 on 19/09/2024.
    Avonmouth Portbury 7.5m to 7.8m at 20:30 on 18/09/2024 and 7.4m to 7.7m at 08:45 on 19/09/2024.
    We are checking the condition of flood defences and closely monitoring the situation.
