The Ö÷²¥´óÐã is looking for people to tell us the story of their world in a two minute film, with winning films assembled into sequences by leading figures in documentary film.

Americas - Cara Mertes

Director, Sundance Institute Documentary Film Program

Cara oversees the activities of the Documentary Film Program and Fund, including granting between $1 and $2 million per year to independent documentarians globally.

She has inaugurated several creative Sundance partnerships, including the support of Arab documentary filmmakers working in the Middle East.

In total Cara has won eight Emmy Awards, three George Foster Peabody awards, and three Academy Award nominations, most recently as Executive Producer for Nerakhoon: Betrayal.

Africa - Mandisa Zitha

Festival Director, Encounters Documentary Festival

is the pre-eminent documentary festival in Africa, producing films, holding masterclasses and opportunities for networking for film-makers.

In her role as its director, Mandisa travels to many international film festivals representing South African films and works on panels to develop the scope of the African documentary scene.

Her previous positions include working organising conferences for various Industry organisations, including the Independent Producers Organisation and Women in Film and Television.

Mandisa sits on various boards including Out In Africa Gay and Lesbian Film Festival and Engender.

Europe - Greg Sanderson

Executive Producer, Ö÷²¥´óÐã Storyville

Greg was part of the team on the Oscar-winning Man on Wire, he also created the music reality show "Maestro" for the Ö÷²¥´óÐã. At Storyville he oversees production of around 15-20 films per year.

Recent successes have included The English Surgeon (winner of HotDocs and LA Film Festival), The Father, The Son and The Housekeeper (winner of Prix Italia), Roman Polanski – Wanted and Desired (Sundance prize winner) and Prodigal Sons (winner of Telluride festival).

Asia - Fujioka Asako

Director, Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival Tokyo Office

Asako has worked with since 1993, after working in film distribution.

Asako Fujioka coordinated the New Asian Currents program, a collection of films and videos by emerging documentary filmmakers from around Asia, between 1995 and 2003.

She has also been on the selection Committee for Pusan International Film Festival’s Asian Network of Documentary (AND) Fund since 2006 and was on the judging panel for the documentary selection at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival.

In her own words, Asako believes that the 2 minute limit for MyWorld films is "a good challenge for the film maker to pare down the core of the project to essentials. Originality is the essence of what I am looking for. There is no end to topics that need to be told, but a unique approach or a point of view is not that easy to come by. Look for something that is your own!"

Oceania - Stuart Menzies

Head of Documentaries, the (ABC)

Stuart Menzies commissions across the genres of History, Science, Natural History, Religion and Ethics, Indigenous and Contemporary programming.

Recent highlights include The PM is Missing, Two in the Top End, The Oasis, Sounds of Aus, How Kevin Bacon Cured Cancer, Ten Pound Poms, Mawson: Life and Death in Antarctica, The Abbey, Captain Cook: Obsession and Discovery as well as Who Killed Dr. Bogle and Mrs. Chandler?, the highest ever rating documentary on the ABC.

Prior to joining the ABC Stuart worked as an independent producer across a range of genres including factual, documentary, children's television and gaming.
