The Humanitarian Crisis in Libya

| Wednesday, 3 March 2011 | 18:00 - 19:10 GMT

It's a human tidal wave. As I write, the Tunisian government say eighty thousand people have crossed the border into Tunisia over the past week, escaping the violence in Libya. Most of them are Egyptian migrant workers, but the refugees come from all over the world. Migrants from Sub-Saharan Africa, Vietnam, India, Bangladesh, Turkey, Tunisia, China, and the Phillippines are all scrambling to get away from the conflict in Libya.

Does the world have to sit and watch this coward sweep his country clean of his ppl b4 the world react? I鈥檓 appalled by this. Does anyone have any humanitarian feelings at all? The world should step forward and stop this mad man from committing more attrocities. He is the one that looks like he鈥檚 on drugs and not his ppl. Plz stop call the protesters rebels. They r not, they r fending their freedoms. Yallie Sierra Leone

A childhood friend of mine took me to Bhengazi last November with the hope of getting a job and furthering my education but I was caught up in the chaos. Please send UN troops to Libya quickly.
