It's a human tidal wave. As I write, the Tunisian government say eighty thousand people have crossed the border into Tunisia over the past week, escaping the violence in Libya. Most of them are Egyptian migrant workers, but the refugees come from all over the world. Migrants from Sub-Saharan Africa, Vietnam, India, Bangladesh, Turkey, Tunisia, China, and the Phillippines are all scrambling to get away from the conflict in Libya.

Okie Dokie in Wisconsin emailed whys: Even though I am fully against Western intervention in Libya I do not hear your Middle Eastern guests lambasting those Gulf States' monarchies who have not openly rendered assistance to the people fleeing Libya. Don't those Middle Easterners know anything about charity? Should a regional effort occur, that would pre-empt the NATO entry.

Anju, a listener in Nepal emailed WHYS: It would be easy for Gaddafi to rally all Libyans if any US, UN or NATO troops were to enter the country or impose a 'no-fly zone'. They would consider the latter as a greater threat than Gaddafi. The international community has made its views on the Gaddafi regime quite clear and it would be counter-productive to step in now.

If you recall he was the Osama Bin Laden of his day, exporting revolution and terror. A well placed guided missile on his tent is called for now. It works.

Amos in Accra says on FB: I was a refugee for nearly fifteen years because Gaddafi trained and equipped Charles Taylor to bring death and destruction on Liberians. Libyans were silent when he was killing people in other African countries. I have no sympathy for them.
