nikmuzka.jpgEach week on the ATL Dance show, Paul Hamill invites an illustrious luminary from the electronica scene to tip us off with their three killer new tunes.

This week's essential tracks are chosen by none other than thatÌýregularÌýknight of the nightspots, DJÌý.

ATL Dance is broadcast on Ö÷²¥´óÐã Radio Ulster, Friday nights from midnight til 2am folks!

- Octopus P.I. (Miracle Boy remix)
Summer is beginning to poke its nose round those horrible grey clouds and here is the perfect tune to soundtrack it. Produced by Graham 'Manly Beard' Ginty and remixing his band WPE we have a lovely downbeat 4/4 electronica with layered synths that build throughout lifting the track slowly which will keep you smiling throughout. This is one of those tracks that fits perfectly in a warm up set or a chilled summer mix butÌýI think it's best enjoyed played through a set of headphones walking in the sunshine on a lazy afternoon.

- Newports (All City)
Dublin's All City label gives us another EP of top drawer beats from label new boy Jason Rockwell and J-Dilla collaborator House Shoes. I'veÌýgone for the House Shoes track which has classic Dilla style crunchy beats and simple but effective sample drops giving a soulful plodding head nodder that i'll be dropping constantly over the summer. I recommend checking the rest of the EP as Rockwell also delivers the goods on his offerings.

- Acid Schmichael (030303)
ACIIIEEEEEEEEEEDD!!!! is what we have here and i love it. This reminds me of early Novamute releases from the likes of Speedy J and UR. Fast paced harsh percussion, twisted 303s and a relentless kick drum come together to hit you in the face with the type of track that is best enjoyed at a sweaty rave in a dark club while dancing in unison with a few hundred like minded clubbers enjoying every beat and not spending the night checking their sunglasses or posing in the smoking area. Proper old school rave, lovely jubbly.
