Electric Picnic 2011 - Adebisi Shank
Cosby Stage, Saturday 3rd September, 3.15pm
Describe in a Tweet: Bleep blop bloop, thrash thrash thrash, dance dance dance. Applause.
What Happened: Put quite simply - electric. What more do you want from an exciting Irish outfit like Adebisi. The Cosby swelled with an expectant crowd, and everything kicked off at full throttle with International Dreambeat. The high pitched, shredding guitars of Masa followed, with the band hurling themselves across the stage. The stall had been set out early, and most importantly Adebisi Shank maintained their blistering pace throughout the set. There hasn't been a stronger Irish contingent at EP in a long time, and with most of the fans heading across to watch The Rubberbandits fill the biggest tent on offer, the chaps did their home country proud.
Ìý
Swoon: A family friendly affair, this reviewer is pretty sure he watched a toddler losing his mind midway through Genki Shank. Juice-box aloft - Parents, your work here is done.
Funeral: Nothing of note, but to fill a gap - Compared to a Rubberbandit mask, Vinny's looks like it was stitched together by his mammy.
EP rating: 8/10
