Electric Picnic 2011 - The Lost Brothers

Post categories: ,Ìý,Ìý

ATL | 16:46 UK time, Friday, 2 September 2011

Main Stage, Friday 2nd September, 3.30pm

Describe in a Tweet: We're eased in nice and gently.

What happened: Luscious harmonies, stripped down sweetness and good time vibes courtesy of two 'brothers' (one from Navan, one from Omagh) and their very talented pals. We've Mark & Oisin singing and strumming as one, double bass, a little pedal steel and mandolin. It's a very welcoming start to the festival.

Good Fortune: 'Here Comes Fanny' is the pick-me-up we needed near the end, a relatively raucous Roy Orbison cover that's all types of fun. 'Angry at the Sun', with its haunting trumpet solo sums up what they do better, mind.

Evil: Like minimal techno, reggae, dubstep and any number of niche genres on offer at this wonderful festival, The Lost Brothers will only bowl over a certain type of punter. Still a welcoming start to the weekend, mind.

EP rating: 7/10
