No Oil Paintings

No Oil Paintings have shown themselves to be a worthy live act before, and it's no different tonight as they close out 39 Gordon Streets contribution to the Output Festival. A packed venue is there to witness banjo interludes, slide guitar solos and great energy. The band are at home on a live stage, particularly when the audience can give it back like they do tonight.

Tracks like 'Icarus' and future single 'Something Like The Truth' come and go to the sound of cheering and the sight of dancing. Personal favourite 'God Only Knows' brings things to a suitable conclusion. A song that is plenty smooth and soulful, stripping back to harmonised vocals before false endings, screamed vocals and an ending as energetic as they come in the rock and folk world.
