Dearest darlinks, how the devil does the day take you today.
I have just had the鈥..
鈥..well for once I cannot tell you what I鈥檝e just had but it was very nice for a Friday lunchtime, let me just say that.
Foxy鈥檚 dinner last night was fab. Our Nige sorted out a brilliant little tapas restaurant, did all the ordering and all we had to do was eat it.
Highlights included:- belly of pork, chorizo, mackerel and the best, tempura courgette flowers stuffed with goats cheese.
After this we went to see Sal鈥檚 son鈥檚 band play in a very famous music pub and then off we all went, the band included for a late one in my club. Very agreeable indeed.
Out again tonight meeting a girlfriend who wants to teach me how to fish apparently, whatever that means.
Looking forward to tomorrow and the beginning of my seven day emergency television diet.
Just had the best week ever, well for a while at least.
The Fox is dead, long live the Fox.
There鈥檒l be tears tonight no doubt.

Chris just been to very dodgy bar in shanghai (moved to china four weeks ago - thank god for listen again!) and there was a girl playing an electric cello whilst standing on the bar leaning against a pole that she ahd just been dancing with. Very surreal, but made me think of you. If you start to learn get a swanky electric, one there great.

One never knows what the day brings does one.
Mine started off in the local shop where a man exposed himself. It was 7am in the morining so I did not really notice but the assitant did.
This was followed by my neighbour from hell sticking her head out of her" look out" window after my little dog barked more than twice.
She has threatened to report me to the wardon!!!! Further more hurled abuse. This has been going on for years. I cant even sit in my garden without her getting upset . Hence having to move location.
Just thought I would share some real Plum life with you .

Though time has not afforded me the luxury of contribution, I have been utterly enjoying the Blog for the last couple of weeks, as ever.
Vancouver continues to be a most beautiful place and life continues to move apace, galloping towards another weekend with all kinds of confidence. This evening, I shall be dining in the finest of restaurants, sharing the finest of company and imbibing some delightfully piquant red wine, the exact variety of which is yet to be decided. Bliss indeed.
As ever, Mr. Evans of Warrington continues to enthrall, entertain and regale us with his presence on the radio, assisted as ever by his able and equally talented crew. So on we go. I shall leave you with one of the thoughts that have punctuated my week and ensured that I remain ever optimistic, perennially silly and enormously delighted in the knowledge that life may not be perfect, but by god, it could always be worse.

Martin - stay focused, man, and please remember that there are people who are interested in your welfare. You need to retrain your thinking about alcohol and that really is best done with a counsellor. I was an alcohol cousellor in a local rehab and we saw great success for many clients. I still see a few of them and they are now successful in their sobriety, home life and work life. 3 of them have since got married and had family. However, I have also had the heartbreaking task of having to attend too many funerals, the youngest one being for a lovely guy J in his late 20鈥檚. He was charming, handsome, intelligent, sociable, and could have done so much with his life, been a great husband and father. Heartbreaking. A waste.

I was advised to dig a pond yesterday; well, down the road from my parents is a villiage green, and it doesn`t have a pond! So, if I look official, council official looking I mean - dayglow jacket and spade - I may start digging my pond their!!
Been in the garden today chopping wood, which has prooved good for the soul.
Still got a lot in my life to sort out, but that journey begins with the first step.

Hang on in there Martin, I know it sounds like a cliche but one step at a time. Chris I note that it is now a 7 day emergency diet - will it eventually end u as a 2 day emergency diet - ie not eating at all from Wednesday onwards! I'm looking forward to Comic Relief but not to whistle idol - it has the same effect on me as nails on a blackboard, - takes the skin off my teeth! I've had to leave a supermarket before 'cos of a random whistler. I would plead justifiable homicide m'lud.
Had a very odd dream last night that you were doing your show from a big, old tree (like an oak or something similar) in the middle of a wood and that you, Johhny and Sally were literally all hanging around in it, swinging about when you wanted. You all went up and down on pulleys and Foxie (due to wee bump) had special chair so she could be more comfortable!
Yup, don't you just love an odd dream?
But then reality bit back and I woke up!

Turbulent couple of days... spent much of Friday at Docs/hospital with youngest (remember the snow and the bash on the head) - panicked for the first time in ages! ALL OK - well, at least we hope so, follow up appt in 2 weeks....

Had dreadful netball match today - was not right until 2nd half, but the cow (!!!) I played against was v v v tough. So much so that by 3/4 time, I was almost (ALMOST!!!!) in tears!!! Dealt with her though, but then, at birthday dinner (delayed, due to Dads illness), food was excellent, but dad went to bed at 9.30, without telling anyone! He's been off ill for 3 weeks now - last time he was ill was at uni!!!! He's depressed and I'm worried! All in all, not the best of days!!!
Martin - keep in touch every day. Even if we don't mention you, we are still thinking of you - take some strength from that!

I listen to your show most every day, but on Fridays I am driving from east Kent to London to do my weekend night nursing job and really love your Friday night shows. Well, you outdid yourself with your 'goodbye to the Fox' tribute and I was, probably not very safely, blubbing along the M2, not just once, but several times. The phone call wishes were brilliant and when her husband and little son came on it was just too much! And again when you played her song - one last time!
Thanks for great shows every single day, and especially for that one. I hope Rebecca has a great time off with her new addition to the family and look forward to her return.

Blimey Sammie! Think of the lbs you'll lose pining whilst not eating and staring out of the window at all the aeroplanes! You'll look gorgeous and all pale and wan for meeting him at the airport upon his return (please ensure baby sitting facilities available for at least a night) and if I were you, I'd start organising your 'welcome home' outfit RIGHT now!
If he doesn't phone when he say's he's going to, it means he can't, not that he just isn't, and he WILL phone you at the soonest opportunity after that. So, if you call him and leave a message, don't forget that he IS working, there IS a time difference, and because he cares, he'll call you when is convenient to call YOU and not necessarily when it's good for him...
During the meanwhilst, throw yourself into your work, don't listen to any 'sad' records, or watch 'Brief Encounter' and you should get through it ok.
It's gonna be a better year for lots of people with lots of opportunities and new projects, new people etc, and yours is just starting...

Flutterby man has called twice, yes twice, since he landed Stateside. Sadly, he found the chocolate heart lolly in his bag when he'd arrived at Newark airport and not after a couple of days as I'd hoped, never mind!!!
My little man is fine, although we got up late today and he elected not to go to rugby training, but to play out on his bike. Luckily, we live ina semi-rural location, so bike riding, even for little men is fine here.
We went to the supermarket to buy something for dinner (I had roast beef in mind for dinner today), but of course I'd forgotten about the Match rule... when watching a match (football/rugby/whatever!), we always have nibbles... so roast went out of the window and we dined on mussels and crusty bread! Yum, yum!!
OH WHAT A GAME!!!! I'm not saying it's all rosy in the England camp, but what an improvement on the dreadful display at Croke Park two weeks ago!! Little man and I were positively bouncing round the living room and my throat hurts now from screaming and shouting in excitement! Fabulous way to spend a Sunday afternoon!
Right - am going now to occupy myself with the drudgery of adulthood (washing, cleaning, ironing, etc, etc.), so will catch up with All tomorrow.

love reading the blog some of the comments are questionable but hey fans all the same.
What is nice about this blog is that people are generally positive; people aren't nasty to eachother at all. The other day Moose and I had a slight disagreement about the Harry Potter books and films, but we weren't rude about eachother.
The thing that is so nice about Susan S is that she takes the time to "speak" to other people individually, I think it's great that she goes to so much trouble (I can never remember who said what!), and I hope she'll carry on doing what she's doing.

My kids have been converted to "old fashioned films". The last couple of times they have stayed overnight with my mum, they have watched such gems as There's no Business Like Show Business and last Friday, it was something with Jayne Mansfield (still trying to establish the name...). Then yesterday, they joined me on the sofa for Pillow Talk. We laughed and laughed - it must be about 20 years since I last saw that one and it was BRILLIANT, it really is true, they don't make them like they used to.... Daughter thought Rock Hudson was goooooorgeous!!!
Little man once asked me if everything was black and white and grey in olden times, "you know mum, when you were a little girl"!!!! Hmmmph!!!
Prof Plum - hope the weekend a Londres was a tonic and that you feel a little more relaxed away from the awful neighbour. Sounds an absolute gas where you live, exposure at 7 am!!!

Sammie - Pillow Talk is one of my favourite films. Mind you, that goes for Brief Encounter and Mrs Miniver as well - if you haven't seen them, then you must - you'd probably enjoy them. I used to sit and watch all these films with my mum on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, sharing a bag of Mermaid toffees and a pot of tea - bliss!!! Special memories eh?

I'm with Chicken chap - it's not that we don't appreciate 'huggles' etc but there's a time and a place. It seems inappropriate when everyone wants to talk to each other - perhaps I'm wrong but I thought it wasn't that sort of a blog. Surely the blog is for Chris and his comments and what leads on from that. If people want to develop a virtual community where you can chatter away about personal items, surely it would be better to do it in another cyber space. I hope I'm not offending anyone with this - that's not the intention - informed discussion is surely what it's all about. And maybe some of the comments replying to Chicken chap were perhaps a bit niggly?!
Talking of informed discussions - did anyone see the programme last night about freedom and how it's been defined since the cold war - wow!

I'm not sure if i'm in the right part of the blog for this (apologies, I'm an amateur), but I think you should start off a blog about golf in Augusta. I heard the piece on Tuesday about the guy who had played there (not Johnny, the other one), and it was great. I have not played there, but I think you should get the experiences of people who have - for amateur golfers who have no chance of playing there , hearing about other amateurs who have played there is a bit fascinating! I have heard that it is very undulating, which is something you do not see on tv.
A bit boring for non golfers though!

PS - I think the show is great - especially the friday one.
yew trees are planted in chruch yards cos they cant be planted in feilds cos they are poisonous to horses! but they are great for longbows! i thought YEW WOOD knew that chris!!!!!!!!!!
