So, alright I admit it, last week I was a little late with the offer but to prove i was sincere, here let me make it again...
All Request Friday tomorrow, the first song - from now on it will be chosen from the blog, so ALL REQUEST really is made up 100 % of your choices. Up until now, all but the first tune have been down to you but from last week this has changed. I think it's only right.
Now, the first song is the most important because, a. It keeps people listening and b. it sets the pace.
I find a good combination of cheese and cool to be a winner. Listen to the first song tonight for an idea of what I mean. I presume from the lack of entries after midnight that the grems have been here again. I reall don't know what's up, it's all very frustrating. Please accept my humble apologies. I am on the warpath, trouble is I have no idea in which direction my warpath should be pointing. D'oh.

Hmmm cheese and cool - there's a puzzler. I mean it's got to be something everybody knows and loves and can sing along with. Abba's a bit old hat - not that I'm saying it's absolutely perfick, but I guess we want something a tad different. I'm thinking along the lines of 3 Degrees (shock horror that I've actually said that). I think we all know and can warble along nicely to them. Whatever is chosen is bound to be fandabidozzy. HAPPY Radio by Edwin Starr - I used to absolutely adore that in my clubbing days, gets your feet tapping and puts a smile on your face.
You played Billy Ocean's new one the other day, how about Red Light Spells Danger? I really like ARF because you would always be good to listen to, but I sometimes think you've only got about 3 CDs in the studio on a Friday afternoon as you always seem to play the same stuff ie Queen, Van Morrison etc. I love that stuff, but come on Chris, let's shake things up a bit!

Do you know, I'm in bits. I've just been watching that programme about Alex with the cystic fibrosis, what an absolute sweetheart he is, and so brave. Just like my friend Craig, the Sheffield Shitehawk, also a CF sufferer, his zest for life is truly inspiring and humbling.
Craig is truly hilarious, talented and quite the most annoying individual I've ever had the privilege of wanting to throttle. Life with him is just a laugh a minute, and yet in his early thirties he is already on borrowed time. He doesn't suffer fools despite being the biggest eejit of all time and has no truck with anyody whingeing. He's also a bit of a sex-maniac and is never happier than when recounting his dubious tales of his activities with 'is Lass and showing off his carpet burns. On the outside of each wrist.
I'll leave that one to your collective imaginations, it's brought on one of my migraines just thinkin' about it.

I think you should open the ARF show with ‘Angel’ by Lionel Ritchie - it is just an amazing song, especially live - I cried my eyes out when he sang it at the Glasgow concert last year! I still tear up when I hear it! It immediately made me think of our daughter (who is 3 next weekend) …. yeah, I know … cheesy! But she really is our miracle (we thought I couldn‘t have children, so she was definitely the answer to our prayers - see my link above), my wee angel (I almost didn‘t survive after her birth and am convinced the thought of her made me stronger through it all!), and she totally banished the loneliness in our hearts the minute she greeted this world! And my goodness, has she breathes life into her Daddy and me … whether we wanted that or not!
And I love the chorus, I mean how true is this? -

It's the weekend - and this is my last full week in this job as I am on hols from Thursday (flying to Paris for my niece's 21st birthday!) and then when I come back I'm starting another job of 3 days per week and this one only 2 days a week.

There's one song I'd LOVE to be on ARF but I don't know if you can play songs that haven't yet been released! It did have a release date for last October, then postponed to November, then December (at which point they thought that so close to Christmas wasn't too sensible), then January, and now it's set for March. MARCH!!! I don't know if I can wait that long!
It's called "The Mystery" by Doug Walker (check the link above to hear it anyway) and I just LOVE it. Gets me bopping away, it's such a catchy feel-goodness of a tune. Would love it to be Chris Moyles' show back in October/November last year....

I have an idea for Jonny.My name is Rosy Barnes and I have a 9 year old son who swims 7 times a week, 2 hours at a time with Portsmouth Northsea Swimming Club. On two of these sessions he starts at 0520 in the morning with skipping, a mile and a half run along Eastney beach and swims until 0730. (he then goes to school and afterwards swims another two hours). He is one of many kids that swim with the club, who are well known in swimming circles for promoting and developing national and international class swimmers (including Kay Sexton). How about chatting to one of the up and coming sporting stars to let people know how hard these kids work to take part in a sport that, in the U.K., is not celebrated enough. If not, how about a chat with Katy, who is back in form and busy in the run up to the Olympics and other international events.

CLP, i've had Gerry Rafferty's song "never let her slip away" in my head all day which I think is highly suitable from a cheese point of view, however it may not have the punch required for the opening tune...hmmmm...ooo how about The Look and "I am the beat".
Oh I don't know those are just a couple of songs floating around my head. I think we tried to get a dedication for Captain Young way back for his birthday which was Glenn Campbell and "Rhinestone Cowboy" now that's a good one for the show.

We finally lost Mrs MfR's father yesterday.
My God, does something like this put everything in perspective and make you realise how truly precious, and fragile, life is.
Last week I was harping on about how my work situation was so terrible and that I wanted to tell them to shove it, generally feeling sorry for myself.
And now this.
If you have a burning desire to go somewhere, climb something, write something, pick the phone up and say sorry to someone, whatever, just do it. Don't say you'll do it tomorrow, do it now.
We only get one shot at this thing called life, make it your best shot.

Morning schmorning lovely people...didn't get to hear any of the show on Friday as was getting ready for Badger's birthday party...which was excellent fun, and I even won a game of poker which was nice! He got some lovely J@ck Daniel's and a GAWJUS choccie cake made personally by our lovely friend...who is turtley FAB at making cakes...so we are eating it only in tiny bits to make it last...
I take it that the song (snog) was Mr Blue Sky? I now have this going round in my head anyway!

John - the chances were the same whether you went for the same numbers or lucky dip but you were better to go for more high numbers as the payout was better. More people chose small numbers because of ages, birthdays and house numbers. Oh, also something about don't pick numbers in a pattern because lots of folks do that too.
