Noah's Birthday Part ll

Chris Evans | 12:28 UK time, Thursday, 10 February 2011

Lunch had. Jelly and ice cream and lots of it, plus pizza - well now and again isn't gonna do any harm is it ? For the adults I mean, not for The Special One.

Indeed not, Noah had his usual steamed fish and green beans and rice, washed down with a small glass of carrot and mint smoothie. There was cake for everyone - carrot - and two candles.

Happy with the candle bill this year, obviously this will become more of a budgetary worry as my son's age progresses. Ahhh, he's such a smasher and if this rain carries on like it is today - we may need him to wheel out that secret ark that I know he's hiding somewhere.

Keep having a great day.

I am glad that he is having a great day, and thanks for updating us Chris. The food sounds good too, but next time try jelly and hot custard, it's lush!

It is persisting down with rain here in North Kent - Ho Hum. I'm off out tonight to have a girlie gossip with my friend and to celebrate her birthday which was yesterday. The rest of the working day can't go quick enough!

    Hugs to all.

Christoff, so pleased Noah is enjoying his special day. Could do with the ark here when you've finished with it!

I adore carrot cake, have had a request from Mr P to make one for his birthday next week. There will be a 'tad' more candles on his though!

Chrissie, enjoy the sunshine, you deserve it 'up north', but please send it back soon!

Blue sky and sunshine, but it's so cold I've just put the heating on.

Bought baby fuschia plants today just because the sun made it feel like Spring. I'll have to nurse them for weeks in the kitchen but I couldn't resist them - my favourite flowers.

    Helloooooooooo Again CLP & Everyone.

Sorry about the rain there CLP, it's lovely sunshine here but it's probably coming our way soon.

I used to love carrot cake but went off it when it gave me what I thought was indigestion but turned out to be a heart attack. But of course it's healthier than some of the things I do eat.

I'll bet little Noah is having a wonderful time, and you and Tash too CLP. Enjoy it before he starts asking for his own Ferrari LOL!

    Happy birthday Noah.

Doesn't time fly as little ones get bigger and older. Can someone please slow it down so I can fit more things in? Once again I seem to have ended up with more to do than hours to do it in. Not quite sure how that happened, but once I suss it out I'll be able to stop it happening... well that's the theory.

Best make a start on the list...

bet you've had a bobby dazzler of a day

It's also my bday on Sunday, so we can share a week of merriment albeit I've had 40 more years practice!

Been feeling run down recently, thought it could be the half-marathon training (ran 11 miles on Saturday) but it seems it could be slightly more than that - I'm going to the quacks tomorrow as they suspect I could have diabetes and need to check me out! Have to say if it is at least I'll know why I feel so rubbish and can get on with feeling better.

Apart from that, all is good in the world of a bandy ginger man from Norfolk.

    Hi everyone:

Bids: thank you for your wee message - I really appreciate it. Sounds like you, MTF and "the boys" have a lovely mini-meet ahead of you! How exciting to be going to see Keith in panto! Hope you all have a lovely time. xx

Keith: what a busy time you are having at the moment! Sounds like a lot of fun! And I am sending a wee hug back to you. xx

CSN: so glad to hear that your lovely wee dog is getting better. And I'm delighted to hear that Royal Mail has done its job!

Gingembre: hope everything will be ok with your tests - but as you say, you just want to know why you are feeling so lousy. Hope you have a lovely birthday on Sunday. xx

Now, I have some news regarding my sister. Incredibly, the cancer seems to be "under control" at the moment. The medication she is on has helped tremendously and it would appear that although the situation was desperate a few weeks ago, things have turned around, which is wonderful. Of course, the outcome is inevitable, we do know that, but for the moment, things have improved and my sister is even able to go home for the weekend. She will be monitored closely, and we just have to see what happens. We have been told that the diagnosis is correct, but the prognosis definitely wasn't. Of course, we do know that there is no way any doctor can predict how much time is left. So, wonderful news for the moment - and I want you all to know just how much I appreciate all your support, hugs, and positive vibes - they must be working!

    Lots of love,

    Chrissie xx

CSN - glad to hear Holly is getting better.

I know I have missed loads of people out but hugs and positive vibes to everyone who needs them (or just wants them).

Front Row of Strictly Come Dancing Tour on Sunday night for David and I, really looking forward to it, this will be our 3rd time and I will be straight on the phone on Monday morning to book front row tickets for 2012, Sunday is the last night on the tour so there should be a good atmosphere I would think.

I've just received my new TV Licence and would like to share a funny tale with you.

A friend of my Dad's was sitting reading his newspaper, there was a knock at the door and it was the TV licence inspector. Mr C said to him "I'm really sorry but my wife deals with all of that, you've just missed her she has just gone shopping, is it possible for you to come back?" The inspector said "no need it's in the top left drawer of the unit in the lounge!" Mr C couldn't believe it he said "blooming heck that's some detection equipment you've got there!" The inspector said "not really I met your wife on her way out and she told me to tell you where it was!"

    Still makes me smile!

I am fascinated by supernatural things and spooky goings on.

But I can't help feeling that we should be helping to excorcise disturbed spirits rather than messing about with ouija boards, etc.

Maddy: thanks for the continuing positive vibes. xx Re: the supernatural, I must agree: my lovely dad said to me when I was about 15: never, ever, in your life try a ouija board - he told me he had a terrifying experience once, and I was to leave well alone!

AliB: thank you xx And can I just say, I think what you are doing is just fantastic.

Jillygoat: what a lovely message xx - my wee heart skipped a beat!

Mary: thank you, as always. xx What a fantastic story, I laughed out loud and had to make my way to the ladies, to control my giggles!

Absolutely Haunted: hope you got those tickets allocated - I would be much too feart to even think of asking for one of them!

    C xx

  • Comment number 58.

Jillygoat, Chrissie - it is a genuine story. I can still see the wee man's face telling us the story, he was so serious because he really thought the equipment could tell exactly where it was in the house. We were all crying with laughing including him!

Maddy - I am a great believer in spiritualism but I agree it is something that shouldn't be messed with. My sisters and I had a terrifying experience with a ouiji board and I would never ever go near one again.

Absolutelyhaunted - hope you get the tickets allocated.

Hello everybody, don't often get here this early myself, so it's good to 'see' you all.

Adding my best wishes to Chrissie, Mary and anyone else who needs some positive vibes.

It must be the week for good news, I've arrived home from work tonight to find a nice cheque from the football pools! Shocked is not the word, as only on Saturday did I decide to cancel it having not won a cent in the 35 years of doing them!

I realise I've probably only got back what I've paid in all these years, but now I don't know whether to cancel or not. My lucky run must be up now though as we have had 2 wins on the lottery in the last few weeks too!

Wishing everyone a fab weekend whatver you may be doing,

  • Comment number 79.

Congratulations Lin - can I rub your arm or whatever it is to pass on the luck?

I forgot to say earlier - great news Chrissie. (((hugs))) to Mary, I hope you get the me under control again soon. I hope that the paperwork means good news for JG as well.

    Time for another glass...

    Cheers again.

    Evening all

I have failed to pour myself an alcofrolic drink tonight and am sat here with a glass of squash contemplating the challenge of packing camping gear, normal clothes, a posh evening frock and shoes into the minimum number of bags as I need to carry them to the bus stop and then from bus station to railway station before getting a lift the rest of the way (and all the way back, thankfully) with a friend. All this effort for a 1 night stop (on a village hall floor - not generally known for their comfort) and a evening out. I'm hoping it'll all fit in 2 large sports bags (since I failed to claim any suitcases when I moved and appear to have left my big rucksack behind too), but only time will tell if I can carry them, deflated air beds and pumps aren't all that light...

Chrissie: fab news, hope your sis (and the whole family) have a fab weekend of freedom :)

Mary: your story made me giggle, good job I hadn't just taken a slurp of my drink or it'd have been a squash/screen moment ;)

Hugs to anyone who wants one.

    Morning all!
Well I survived week 2, including 2 nights and days in a cottage in sherwood forest with 12 fellow board members for a bit of team bonding! Spent yesterday consolodating all the information I have gathered/been sent and finally feel I understand what my job will be and what my team are doing! ha ha

Sun is shining here today, and was planning on doing a little bit of garden tidying, but I see there is a mini meet occuring and it involves a pub - so I might point my car south and see if I can track them down....

Chrissie, good news indeed and I'm sure your sister will love some time back at home.

Right coffee then shower and who knows what else next
    Happy Saturday everyone

Keith, good luck for today and I'm certain your two critics will give rave reviews.
    Chrissie - xxx

Went to the doc last night, still no definitive results so need to have the blood tested again. This will then tell them whether it's a virus or, as they suspect diabetes. She said I can carry on with the running as long as I listen to my body and take certain things with me whilst I'm out. Was gonna do 12 miles today but gonna keep it to 5.

Off out with MrsW and others tonight for a birthday drink (or 2) before the kids wake me at silly o' clock tomorrow morning with my cards.

    Am I the first today?

Had a great time yesterday with Mr bp in the spa, full afternoon tea and then a few hours in the spa - lovely!

And then I had to drive home from Essex (saw the secret nuclear bunker sign and thought of you Deev and Seza) to bucks with the boot half open and a bed in the back, very scary but we managed it, eventually!

Mr bp bought me a slunket for valentines day - so now I'm snug as a bug in a rug (we did the v day early as he has to work on Monday!)

    Morning all and Baggy!

polar opposite weather wise from yesterday - pouring with rain :-(

I too have been doing a bit of spring cleaning - well de-cluttering actually so a tip run is planned later today and going off-piste with a different roast - doing James M's roast pork belly - never done pork before so wish me luck!

Just watching re-runs of Friends - the one with Ross getting his spray tan. Classic.

Right, hope you all have a great day and I am eagerly awaiting the panto review....

    Morning all

Happy birthday to CSN and KW and my Mum!!

    Hope you're all ok

Mr Sezza has just transferred me onto his old laptop so I've come up in the world a bit!

I've just gone to hang the washing on the line as it's a bit grey here but dry and breezy and realised that although I loaded the machine yesterday, put the soapy stuff and the smelly stuff in, I didn't switch the thing on!!

So, it's now chugging away to itself and I bet the weather's changed by the time it's done!

    D'oh!

Best go see what else I should have done!
