Sorry for the long stay away, thinks are busy at work and I has sick last week for a bit but feel much brighter ow.

Haven't really caught up I'm afraid, happy birthday to the birthday people, hugs to gail and hurrah for the puppy at Deev's.

As for me, well I'm still loving my job dispite the hours, there is lots of exciting project work at the moment that I'm involved in and a real step away from my comfort zone but that is what I wanted - I'm too young to be bored!

I'm going to the MCN show in London this Sunday with a friend, really exciting about doing something bikey again :-)

Weather-check: Was -4 this morning when I set out from Wrexham at 6.20 and although I think it is still probably 0 degrees, it is beautifully sunny in Telford with lovely blue skies.

part 2

Just lunched on soup in a cup with home made bread to dunk - yummy.
It's the loaf I had proving on Sunday and is still lovely and fresh, not dry at all.
There will be just enough for the same again tomorrow, I think.

Community choir last night and the Tenor Ladies - as I inadvertently christened the group of us ladies who sing tenor! - were on top form! dancing as well as singing our part of the 5 songs we covered. We are a bit rowdy, I'm sorry to say.

And ... we have been asked to perform at two charity functions. One on 9th March in a local community centre and then on 19th April in the parish church! We are all so excited.

Finally, did anyone hear Raul Malo on Simon Mayo last night? His rendition of Imagine was beautiful. Honestly it's not a song I have ever really warmed to, sorry Deev - I know Lennon is a bit of a hero - but I thought he sang it so gently it was a delight. Listen Again if you didn't catch it.

I didn't know what Jersey Boys was about either but now that I have checked it out, I would love to see it, especially with the brekky team.

There's nothing more they can do for David's Mum and she has been put on the waiting list to do into the Ayrshire Hospice, he went to see her last night and talked things through, a tough time for him and the rest of his family.

Although a know what yer saying that there's no 'U' in team although 'U' are VERY much part of the team and the front man of the situation - Know what 'I' am sayin'!!!!!!!

So terdee am nearly ready at me new old 'ouse for me gasman coming termorrow, ave knocked a 'ole through me wall for me boiler flue.... Ave lifted me floors boards and made the channels through though joists... for the pipes ter run!!!! (and thankfully not too big channels otherwise walking upstair would be like walking on a trampoline!!!!)..... BUT a spanner 'as been thrown inter the works of life blog pals/ mates.... The works of life!!!!!!!!
In fact terdee a variety of spanner sizes are required.... Ter get part of me life back on track... (or the road!!!!).

Me new old car thatta recently bought (October)... ave been putting doing some VERY important things as ave been so busy with me 'ouse!!!!!!
When ever a buy a car.... First thing a do is service it and the number most improtant thing ter do ter any car.... change the engine oil regular!!!!! (this the one single reason why enghine sblow on cars - not changing the oil regular!!!)
And since a don't know for sure what the previous owner 'as done.... A like ter play safe which is why me cars VERY rarely fail me!!!!!!!
A admit ave been naughty and nursed me car through winter... with a few starting problems in the cold.... All due ter it needs servicing... Fuel filter, oil filter, air filter and oil ter keep the engine from premature wear!!!!!!!!
AND recently a spotted something that didn't look good.... Me fanbelt/ alternator belt!!!!!!!
It looked VERY worn.... A sign the car 'as not been a serviced as it should!!!!!!!!!
Only 2 weeks ago a said ter mesen... 'I'.... 'A'.... A MUSt immediately change me fanbelt before it snaps!!!!!!!!!!
But who wants te rbe outside under a car in FREEZING weather.... Which is why a always get me car ready for winter in September!!!!!!!!!
BUT last night on the way 'ome ter work me belt snapped!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thus meaning me battery will soon not be charged!!!!!!!!
A mad eit 'ome at speed before a lost me lights.... 'eater off... radio off ter save juice on the battery!!!!!!!!!

The good news is terdee.... Ave bought a new fanbelt, only 15 sheets (15 pound).... And ter sav eme messing ave found a man who will fit it for 20 sheets!!!!!!!!!
Total 35 sheets in the 'and!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now if that was the car dealers... yer could be looking at 78 sheets.... maybe 187 sheets.... It's almost like they just make a number up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But many will say ahhh yes but genuine parts and yer cna trust them!!!!!!
Did you know all.... That the cheaper parts from motor factors ar eoften the same ones the dealers buy (yer often see the motor factors delivery fan outside the dealers).... And ok if it's got the name of the make of car stamped on it instead..... It usually is made in the same factory as the not stamped part!!!!!!!
A know as ave seen it for meself in me truck when ave been at these factories!!!!!!
Same with most things!!!!!!!!
It's called consumerism but ter me it's a legal way off ripping people off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd 'ate ter know 'ow much a Ferrari fanbelt would cost and ter fit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know a cambelt costs over 1,000 sheets ter supply and fit..... What must it costs for a Ferrari Enzo?????????????????????
Maybe 2k or more just for a belt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok a know for such a car they are made tougher.... But at the end of the day it's all just nuts and bolts the same as my ordinary Rover diesel...... And the cambelt is made of rubber and plastics the same..... Yet why does it cost maybe 30 times more??????? (a cambelt 70 sheets for my car!!!!)
Many will say it's specialist service/ knowledge and special parts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Baggy - glad the job's still going well - I do worry about you, y'know! If it's any help (which it probably isn't!) every day is t aking me out of my comfort zone at the mo - good days and bad - but I'll get there. Eventually. As will you.

Chrissie - I think we're up to Season 5 of The Sopranos, and it's just fantastic! We tend to watch it on a Friday night with our curry and some vino. It's our "Bada Bing" night!

I've been busy this morning. Baked a load of spiced bicsuits (or are they cookies?!?!), boxed them up and have been hand delivering them to targeted businesses in the area. And yes, it's blimmin' cold out there. I've got to go out again later as one of the places I want to target was closed (despite their advertised opening hours), but it's not a problem.

Right, best crack on - need to hit the phones this afternoon for a client.

Well it's blimming freezing here on the Welsh borders also. -4 also this morning as I left slightly (but only slightly) later than Crumpy. My friend has recently joined a choir - presume they might be rivals of yours. Think they're called something like the Border Singers. Don't think she's in the tenors ............... but is probably as boisterous.

Sorry I haven't been around. I have been lurking but haven't had a lot to say. Thanks for missing me Ali.

Too many things to mention but my thoughts are with Gail and David, it is never an easy time but as Chrissie says the fact that they are able to talk about things will be a comfort - that's something I didn't really get with my mum and although my cousin was prepared for the recent passing of my aunt, they were not able to talk about it either.

I hope the wedding went well today (was it North or South Susan?) either way I hope the snow managed to stay away.

MC - beware of that slanket - daughter loves hers but I await the news that she has tripped over it and broken a limb, she is the most clumsy person I know.

Gail - how very sad for David and his Mum. Nothing we can say helps much, but I am thinking of them. I didn't get to say goodbye to my brother and I so wish I could have told him how much I loved him. Maybe it will help David in the months to come that he and his Mum had the opportunity to talk.

Been at daughters for dinner. 9yr old gave us a preview of his presentation to his class about Venus on his ipad. He made it himself, wrote the script, and it was fascinating. So much for children today having no imagination!!

Just alot of waiting going on here.....and silent panicking!

The boy is going through stages of 'when are we moving, I want to move' and 'I love this house I want to stay here' - both with copious amounts of tears, so the sooner it happens the better for my (and his) sanity.
What is sad is he is making some really good friends at pre-school, we had someone for tea yesterday and he went to his girlfriends for tea tonight. He was one happy little boy when he bounced home!

Sezza - Hope boy1 has at least 4 layers on! Blinking freezing!!

No Slankets in this house, just my baby duvet - the feather duvet off my cot still with original patchwork cover!

Dear all

Really didn't want to leave my bed this morning but I did and am now at work, absolutely freezing.

I have a slunket but it never gets used as such, more like a blanket wrapped around the lower half od my body, it was mr bp valentine present to me last year.

This year I shall be working so we wont do much for valentines day, but just once I would like a bunche of flowers delivered to me at work from mr bp (or a secret valentine!) but I know it is never going to happen. I guess I can still wish and hope thnough - I guess thats the fun of the day, you never quite know what will happen, even if nothing ever does!

I forgot to mention that on Saturday I did CLP's poached egg, I normally don't like poached eggs as I find them too runny, I don't mind the yolk being a bit runny but if any of the white is, I just can't eat it, however, using Chris' recipe, the egg was absolutely perfect, and it had just been laid about half an hour before I cooked it, so you don't get much fresher than that. I had it on half a bagel with butter. As David was working on Saturday, we both had one on Sunday, this time on toast, and again, it was perfect! Result!!

I have mixed feelings about Valentine's Day. I absolutely cringe at some of the pure tat in the shops and yes, too many do cash in commercially. BUT like every lady, I'd love to be sent a bunch of roses (or even daffodils!). Nic ALWAYS buys the most lovely cards, with verses that usually reduce me to a quivering wreck (this goes for Christmas, birthday cards etc not just the February one). And he does buy me flowers during the year for no reason other than "just because" which is a really lovely thing to do.

Another bug-bear is that my nan's birthday is 7th Feb, and whenever I want to send her birthday flowers I usually end up paying over the odds, purely because her birthday falls near Valentine's Day - I don't want to send her a dozen red roses, just some nice arrangement, but still the price gets Valentine's Day hiked.

eb: the moving house thingy - really difficult when you want your lovely wee boy to be happy. From a wee bit of experience with this with my own daughter, I am sure he will be just fine once it happens. It's the waiting for the green light that's the worst part!

Re: Valentine's Day - I did receive 6 red roses delivered to my office once ... about 23 years ago! Obviously MrS is not a man who likes to spoil me too much!

Valentine's day, I don't like cut flowers, I think they are a waste of money, but we usually always go out for dinner, my work colleague says it's just a waste of money and it's just commercialism but we tend to think it's more just a bit of fun!!!

hi mate my missus is being sacked this week by the Ö÷²¥´óÐã for not being able to work 9-6 from elstree whilst trying to bring up our 16 month old daughter meaning they would be apart for at least 15 hrs a day.
you wouldnt believe the vile conduct the bbc management & hr have put my family through
the only light i have seen tonight is a exert from another blog one would wish from the bbc
