CarrieDay 4 then - Sunday and a down day as Rach calls it. As you can see from the pics I managed to get to a game - we had one spare and lovingly Rach and Rhys allowed me to take it! So amazing! My first England World Cup Game. Met up with Chris and Dave at the stadium which was fantastic.

They've built a new one in Frankfurt and they've done a great job - makes you think why is Wembley taking so long! Had a beer and a pretzel before the match - not bad at all. As it was just the one seat I was sat on my own - was a bit worried initially being a wee girl and all but luckily when I found my seat I had a very friendly German family on the left and some wicked stock broker lads from London on my right. The lads were tops and kept me in beer for the entire 90 minutes!

Anyway to the game then...well I was right behind the goal when Becks free kick went in..like all you lot at home I wasn't sure who it came off, thought Becks could claim it but some Paraguayan's head got in the way. Still who cares 1 nil First half I really thought we played well - Joey looked great on the left...Stevie G and John Terry looked steady and Frank was looking sharp too...But what happened in the second half? Atmosphere went a bit flat too be honest - kept trying to get it started...at least the traditional Mexican wave kept us all amused. Not sure about Sven's substitutions either but it was good to see Downing - didn't think he had a bad game. Was a tad nerve racking at times but we kept it together and at the end of the day its 3 points and we're top of the group - can't ask for more than that. I caught bits of the Sweden v Trinidad game in a service station - great result for us! Argentina looked good last night though - they are my tip for World Cup glory.

This morning the whole team went for a run in the woods led by Asa who's taking care of us out here. It was hilarious! Then had ab's session on the lawn outside the chalet. Check out all the pics! Had nice and healthy salad for lunch before a sunbathe and swim. Now watching the Holland v Serbia game in our chalet with Chris, Rachel, Matt, Mark, and Asa. Mark makes a mean spicey tea by the way...cinnamon and ginger. Arjen Robben's playing a blinder for the Dutch! Lets hope he can keep that form up for Chelsea next season.

In response to comments to my last post, sadly no chance for me and Lamps by the way - he has a beautiful fiancee called Elen and a bouncing baby girl called Luna to keep him occupied. But I can still look and admire from afar!

Thats an interesting take on the game Carrie. I like to think myself of more of a neutral and to be honest i thought England were terrible in the 1st half and 2nd half! Apparently England boast some of the finest midfielders in the world, what with Becks, Lamps and Stevie G and not at one stage during that game did they contol it.

England's only saving grace was that Paraguay were worse. If England seriously think they can win this world cup then they should take a leaf out of both Argentinas and Ivory Coast's book and give their fans some attacking football to enjoy. Errikson has got you lot playing like Arsenal under a certain George Graham - route one.

Never mind T&T next, i predict and England win, a couple of quick goals before Sven reverts back to a 4-4-1-1 formation. Exciting stuff eh.....

Keep up the good blogs!

Regards

A

Are you still missing Mr Dominic Byrne's esteemed company whilst you're out there Carrie? You're "I miss you" to him on Friday sounded so sweet and heartfelt...

Still, sounds like you're getting more than enough male attention to compensate...

Great blog, at least you wrote more than Chris. Can't wait to see the interview Dom was talking about in the morning of the 12th June (About Freddie Flintoff)!

Another interesting blog Carrie, enjoyed it. Just one question; What is your personal opinion of the whole club v country thing over Rooney's fitness to play?
