AledWhile the rest of the world watched England struggle against Paraguay, Jocelin and I found ourselves a heated pool. On Friday I jumped in to the pool at our camp. I won’t be doing that again. It was so cold I couldn’t breathe! I managed to warm up enough to get a 300metre swim out until I lost all feeling in my limbs and had to get out.

Yesterday was much more promising. A large pool and not many Germans (They were watching the football). I opted to swim at the deep end, at the last minute however I lost my bottle and thought I’d walk around to get my bearings. This was very lucky as a few minutes later a wave machine kicked in! I dread to think what would have happened if I was on my back in the deep end facing giant waves!

I gave up and went for a wonder only to walk in on a fat German woman showering naked! Oblivious to the fact that the incident probably harmed me more than it did her mentally, she got all funny. I think she was shouting rude stuff at me but I haven’t yet read the insults section of the german phrasebook so I can’t be sure. The other passtime hobby that’s been seeing me through the sea of football is Civilization. I won’t bore those of you who don’t know of the computer game but for those that do, I won a Dominance victory before we even got to the 20th Century. I’m pretty proud.

I’m currently tidying up some of the audio we used on the show that I wasn’t happy with on Friday then, it’s more vodka (the stuff out here is pretty strong!).
