Aled

So there I was stood on street corners in London freezing my privates off, shouting and bouncing like a clubber on one too many energy drinks, while handing envelopes out to any strangers who approached me. I DO have a strange job.

But it was all in a good cause - the latest Chris Moyles Show Karaoke, this time... LONDON! Another opportunity for us as a team to spend (another) evening together, to again realise just how scary some of you are (especially after a couple of drinks with a mic in your face singing karaoke) and another excuse for me to sing "Show me the way to Aberystwyth" despite the fact that this was originally a gag around a year ago - but hey, it gives Chris another reason to get wound up by me!

All in all though, it wasn't the usual ticket giveaway. We only ended up picking a spot in London where a brand new Hollywood film was being made starring Matt Damon!!! Not wanting to give too much away but at one time in his new film dozens of people run off the London Eye as fast as they can. Which is, in my opinion, unrealistic as 1) no one was in any of the pods and everyone managed to run off while queuing (and anyone who's been to the London Eye would know it's NEVER empty enough to just WALK ON) and 2) it wasn't turning. That's the first time since it was build 6 years ago that I've not seen it turning. Again, a flaw in reality! When watching said scene look to the right and if (admittedly a big if) the producers missed it there'll be me stood on a massive pink Radio 1 banner waving....

Well, it COULD happen!

Then moved on to Soho Square where I assumed there'd be some friendly people (Soho is the heart of London's pub and media centre and includes a lot of happy people). It would have worked if it wasn't for a few people from the FA. Who have their offices in Soho Square. I know this becuase whenever there's a big football story (either because some old looking manager has slept with someone they shouldn't have or because some footballer has been doing something he shouldn't have) ITV or Ö÷²¥´óÐã News always stick someone outside the offices next to the park. These people from the FA were very abrupt and rude. I'm not a fan of abrupt or rude people (which is a disadvantage working in Media and living in London because there's LOADS of them). The people from FA said they couldn't hang around and that they had to go. Unfortunately I had already given them a ticket. So tomorrow, I think I'll make them sing until they're friendly then I'll let them off the stage :)

Should be good then. 300 listeners, Vernon, Scott, Gemma Atkinson, us the team and Chris! "Feed The World!"

I'll give you the goss on what went on behind the scenes after the event.

Dear Aled

Sorry to hear you have frozen your privates off. How did you manage it? I'm guessing here, but did you pour some liquid nitrogen down your pants? When nitrogen gas is liquidised, it is so cold that it would, quite literally, freeze the balls off a brass monkey.

I hope you sought medical attention immediately. If not, please do so at the earliest opportunity.

yours

J McC
