Dear Webfriends, Happy New Year from me. It seems that I haven’t blogged properly this year with the exception of the banana eating video, so Aled thought I should drop you a line to say hi.
Weirdly, a bus crashed in London yesterday into the same bridge that I crashed into a few years ago...
As with my ordeal, it was a southbound number 24 which was on diversion when it crashed into the railway bridge next to Buttle’s timber yard in Kentish Town. Fortunately nobody was badly killed or hurt yesterday, and even though I was on the top deck when my bus crashed, I was sat above the driver which I personally think is the best seat. In this position I find it fun to pretend you’re actually driving the bus, which is why for me, it’s the ultimate spot on a double decker. Let me know which is your favourite seat on the bus. Aled says that by asking questions during these little chats, it promotes interactivity from you, which is apparently good.
In the meantime here’s a video of Gene Hunt from Ashes to Ashes doing our celebrity lap, as filmed from the perspective of his helmet. If you like this video, you could also tell me what you think of that. I’m not really interested in this bit, but Aled likes to count the responses and make them into a graph.

Like you I used to always sit at the front above the driver on double deckers. Only problem was when my dad sometimes drove our school bus. I had to cover the drivers periscope thingy with my schoolbag, so he wouldn't catch me having a fly puff on the way home.
On a totally unrelated topic, am I the only person who is irritated when Chris starts messing around or talking over the top of Dom and Carrie when they're reading the News, Sport and Weather? Much as I love the show, and think Chris is really funny, it's the only time of day I get the chance to hear the news and weather, and it drives me daft when I can't understand what's getting said for Chris monkeying around. Sometimes Carrie is completely unintelligable cos she's getting tickled or having something yelled in her ear.
Now I've had my old fuddy duddy rant, I'm away to heat my slippers by the fire, and switch on my electric blanket.

Personally I prefer to sit on the back bench on the lower deck. That way, you don't get skimmed off the top if your driver takes a wrong turn under a railway bridge, you won't fall so far if the bus topples over, and you're still high enough to look down buxom ladies' v-necks. Bonus!

Do the lyrics mention something about hanging in a VIP room with the 'latest dictionary'? What does this mean?

I personally prefer the naughty schoolboy seat, taking over the back row. However, on a double decker the top front row is a good alternative.
