A little later than scheduled...

Rob Francis | 10:41 UK time, Wednesday, 12 May 2010

Apologies to everyone who tuned in to Ö÷²¥´óÐã One for EastEnders last night, only to find that the breaking news meant it, and other shows planned for the evening, needed to be postponed.

Fear not, however. Last night's episode will be screened at 7.30pm tonight instead, as well as being made available on Ö÷²¥´óÐã iPlayer as usual. So you'll be able to get up to speed with events in Walford before tomorrow's regularly scheduled episode.

I cant beleive the Ö÷²¥´óÐã think the Prime Minister is more important than Eastenders... :)

perhaps you should consider moving Eastenders to 5.30pm to receive the right audience. At the moment the influx of teen gangs / teen stories we are getting is of no interest to the usual veiwer, quite the opposite in fact. Please get we get back to some decent adult story lines. At the moment its like watching Bikers Grove (oops showing my age now)

I was devastated when Eastenders wasn't on yesterday, i had to watch *pauses* politics talk about stuff. (Okay, it's not just 'stuff' but it was far too educational). Atleast it is on tonight!! I was getting worried. :P

ADMIT YOU MADE A COCK-UP LAST NIGHT WITH POSTPONEMENT OF EASTENDERS 11 MAY.EPISODE IN FAVOUR OF POLITICS WHICH WERE NOT PARTICULARLY IMPORTANT NOR INTERESTING, ESPECIALLY AS YOU HAD 2,3,4 CHANNELS AVAILABLE. YOU GAVE NO ON-SCREEN INFO WHILST POLITICS WERE PLAYING ABOUT THE POSTPONEMENT NOR INFO THAT THE TX ON THREE AT 2200HRS. WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE. NOR WAS THERE ANY INFO ON Ö÷²¥´óÐã WEBSITE PRIOR TO 1000HRS TODAY WHEN I LAST LOOKED. A WRONG DECISION ABOUT PRIORITIES MAY BE A MATTER OF OPINION, BUT IT IS YOUR DUTY TO KEEP LISTENERS INFORMED AND UP-TO-DATE. THE TROUBLE WITH AN OVER-ARROGANT Ö÷²¥´óÐã IS THAT YOU DO NOT ADMIT YOUR MISTAKES AND DO NOT APOLOGISE FOR THEM.

is happy that eastenders is been put on tonight but yet again bbc are gonna have massive troubles coz i can not see waterloo road advertised now wonderful....not great just great wot the hell are the bbc doing?

  • Comment number 13.

Anyone know when Waterloo Road will appear? It's supposed to be on tonight at 8pm, after Eastenders, but Holby City is on instead.

It made sense to postpone EastEnders last night. The breaking news was a hugely important national event. However, I was expecting to see EastEnders after it ended so was a little annoyed when it finally got to the end and said EastEnders wouldn't be on even though earlier in the broadcast we had been told it would! Especially annoying as we had no idea what time the news broadcast would end. However, I'm surprised to hear that OFCOM have received so many complaints about it!

Tydlyn - what happened on Tuesday night with the new prime minster is a very important thing for this country and Esatenders isn't!! Come on people, complaining about something importnt being shown in place of Eastenders? What is going on?? I am enhoying EE throughly right now but come on! At least it was shown on Wednesday instead!

  • Comment number 18.

I just wonder if the world spun off its axis and the bbc showed it would people still think eastenders should have been on instead? The show contains almost continual scenes of slanging matches and violence and should have gone the way of Gordon brown long ago. The events of tuesday night bear relevence to all of us for possibly the next 5 years! The bbc was right to show them. I used to love eastenders but lost interest some 10 years or so ago when it became all about the mitchells and them making enemies with everybody and spreading misery. Anyone who believes that this is more important then political history being made is firstly a fantasist who believes it to be true to life and secondly seriously deluded.

I watched it on RTE1 pity they dont even have a duff duff like

  • Comment number 20.
