Well I voted about 30mins ago in Swansea West. I asked what the turn out had been so far, "About 30%, not counting postals" I was told. Depressing.

For me it was a real dilemma for me - Labour or Plaid.

I decided a week or so ago to go Green regionally, but I could not decide about the constituency vote, many things have been playing on my mind all day, and I finally decided in the polling booth.

I do think Welsh Labour has improved the country, a good record which they can be proud of, but as for their policies, they were, well... a little dull.

For the past 2 weeks I thought I've vote Plaid. They had policies I really liked - part payment of student debt, and the grant for first time home-owners.

However, yesterday I saw a Plaid poster which made an imapct. "Give him the send off he deserves" (so something along those lines) in reference to Tony Blair. Personally I think TB has been a good PM - taking Iraq out the picture.

So an election poster had an impact on me. I liked the policies, but not the attitude Plaid. I voted Labour.

Any chance we can send you Alex Salmond? I refused to vote for a party that has as a choice on the ballot paper "Alex Salmond for First Minister". Shades of North Korea methinks.

It's going to be one of those nights when it's just too good to go to bed. I'm not going to spend a second of it with my eyes shut (well, apart from blinking). Good luck tonight, Betsan. You deserve it.

I am disappointed that none of the parties seem to mention the salary disparity not only between England and Wales, but also between Cardiff and the rest of Wales! I live in a rural/coastal area where the house prices and council tax are extortionate and equal that of any city, yet salaries are miniscule, and do not reflect the cost of living in this area. The cost of living some will say is exactly the same in a rural area that it is in the city, so why the salary disparity? NOt only is there salary disparity, but there appears to be very few opportunities for career advancement in the rural areas? People still have to live, still have to pay taxes and still have to survive financially...this unfairness should not be allowed to continue. When will any of the parties recognise this...Never mind health, education, NHS, that should be a given....if people were paid properly within these areas, there would be no need for child/poverty initiatives..people could fund themselves. Come on parties...wake up to the salary disparity, and let people live!

Why must politicians keep saying how much they are giving us, let us be very clear they are deciding on the redistribution of our taxes, not Rhodri digging deep in his piggy bank. I like the term they use in the states, "your Tax Dollar".

Islwyn Needs a change, Labour with MP Don Touhig has been strong, but Labour must think they have Islwyn on a plate same as they thought with Blaenau Gwent until the late Peter Law Proved Labour WRONG,

This area tends to vote for the Person NOT the Party!!

I have not seen 1 person coming round the doors in the Cwmcarn village, Although I was behind a Plaid Cymru Car today with CHILDREN "Shouting" to vote PC, That Alarmed me if an adult cant say to vote, will they have the children running the constituancy!!!

It looks as though the turnout will be again very low. This goes to show that the people of Wales have nothing but contempt for the assembly. The referendum for the assembly was won with the narrowest of margins and the assembly has been put in place with the votes of a minority of the population. Most people in Wales would say the assembly has done no more than a Welsh Office could do.

HI BETSAN,IT,S GOING TO BE A LONG NIGHT,EXCITING BUT LONG.MAY I TAKE THIS OCCASION TO DIGRESS SLIGHTLY AND ASK YOU TO THANK HUW FOR HIS HIGHLY INFORMATIVE AND ENJOYABLE PROGRAMMES OF LATE.HIS LLOYD GEORGE WAS SUPERB!HUW IS DOING A GREAT SERVICE TO WALES AND HIS PASSION FOR OUR WONDERFUL COUNTRY IS INTOXICATING.DIOLCH YN FAWR.

I was interested to see the amount of polish Migrant workers who have registered to vote in the Wrexham elections,given John Marek's devotion to helping his constituents and the amount of help he has given the Polish and central european population of wrexham it will be interesting to see what impact this will have on the outcome,wrexham is no longer controlled by the Labour party and a lot of bad feeling is directed at them for a failure to give wrexham a fair settlement year after year,I am currently watching the events in wales unfold whilst over in Poland,being one hour ahead does have its advantages the night isn't that young over here.

I am so saddened by the UK taxation and lack of decent wages in the NHS that I am emmigrating to Canada soon. I have never missed an election in my life but this once I decided I would no longer give my support to a party i no longer believe in.
