Blood Relatives - Deerheart

Here's someone new to investigate!  Glasgow based quintet graced our fair studios last month. Formerly known as Kitty the Lion, they've undergone a line-up change, written a whole batch of new tunes and moved away from their previous more acoustic, folky sound. Ostensibly they are a new band, but still fronted by the inimitable Anna Meldrum who delivers personal, wistful, off-kilter lyrics over increasingly catchy, intelligent arrangements. They've upped the 'indie' and the 'rock' elements and when arriving in our Glasgow Ö÷²¥´óÐã studios at Pacific Quay, also decided to use our lovely Steinway piano... Such a good move!

Blood Relatives - The Spit

Anna and the band knocked out passionate LIVE versions of two tracks to appear on their debut album which drops on 28th October on the Comets and Cartwheels label, home to Quickbeam, Finn Le Marinel and Fake Major - all worth investigating by the way. Starting with a rousing , which is the current single and LP title track, they then unleashed an exclusive on Ö÷²¥´óÐã Radio Scotland in the form of album closer , which had never been played live to an audience of any kind before. Thank you Blood Relatives! With a customary cover in the form of 's 1993 hit Little Bird and an excellent Pass It On track by Anna's hero , they dissppeared into the night leaving fans new and old tweeting, texting and reaching for Ö÷²¥´óÐã iPlayer.

and enjoy another band with great potential.
