I had to turn the latest Rocky off 15 minutes in. Once I saw the children and babies getting killed and molested I realised the golden days of 'stupid Rambo' were over and had been replaced with something far more sinister. Unlike Kermode, I think its OK to enjoy things being blown up every now and then, but I think that trying to create some kind of moral backdrop for the portrayal of very realistic killing actually makes it far worse not better. Keep the super-violence over the top and ridiculous I reckon, its more entertaining and less likely to disturb...

It's the modern day audience and Hollywood that ask for this sort of rubbish to be made.
They both get what they deserve, I just keep well out of it....
