Maybe the gods of cinema take away with one hand, and give back with the other...

Video and movie receipts of this crap will certainly encourage some producer to plonk down $10mm on Sly's lap
What else does he have to do?

The bad acting, outlandish plot, stupid bad guys and ridiculous invulnerability of the hero all combined to produce a hilarious bit of fun. Like "Big Trouble in Little China", only without the self-awareness of its own excesses of "gung-ho".
I had to turn the latest Rocky off 15 minutes in. Once I saw the children and babies getting killed and molested I realised the golden days of 'stupid Rambo' were over and had been replaced with something far more sinister. Unlike Kermode, I think its OK to enjoy things being blown up every now and then, but I think that trying to create some kind of moral backdrop for the portrayal of very realistic killing actually makes it far worse not better. Keep the super-violence over the top and ridiculous I reckon, its more entertaining and less likely to disturb...

The really sad thing is that the First Rambo film is pretty good!
It's the modern day audience and Hollywood that ask for this sort of rubbish to be made.
They both get what they deserve, I just keep well out of it....
