Could the whole Hollywood machine not find a screenwriter or director with any idea of how to craft engagement from these two actors? (I'm assuming it was sold as a 'pair them up' vehicle rather than it being an original script)... Maybe the two of them are actually better off staying in our memories of 1970s classics. I'm off to watch Godfather 2, Dog Day Afternoon and Raging Bull to wash out the bad taste in my mouth...
