What do you call someone who hangs round musicians?
A Drummer!

The drums start up
"What's that drumming" says one explorer
"Don't worry about the drumming but beware when it stops" says the scout
The drumming goes of for 3 days and 3 nights and its driving everybody mad.
"drums are good" says the scout "but very bad when they stop"
on the fifth day they suddenly stop and the scout starts to look very worried.
"WHAT HAPPENS NOW" say the explorers
"NOW THINGS GET SERIOUSLY BAD" says the scout with a terrified look in his eye.
"SO WHAT HAPPENS NOW" scream the explorers
"Bass Solo"

Having recently seen U2-3D in the Birmingham IMAX, I was inspired to go back and watch Stop Making Sense on DVD. That is a proper rock film. The lack of shots of the crowd makes you feel like the gig is a polite conversation between you and the band, rather than some kind of bizarre ritual. It's much better than The Last Waltz and proves not just how good a band Talking Heads were at their peak, but also just how underrated Jonathan Demme is as a director. I disagree with you insofar as I think that Silence of the Lambs is better than Manhunter, but I can't wait to see more of Demme's work, especially Rachel Getting Married.
Incidentally, on the subject of remakes, what's your opinion on his version of The Manchurian Candidate?
