Shrek BOREver After? Huh? Huh? Oh yeah. I went there. (Is this on?)

1, 2, 3(?) and then Sh--- Forever After

Shrek 1 & 2 were good. My sister loves them and suffice to say it is INCREDIBLY rare that me and my sister agree on a good film. Shrek 3 was OK. (Though not a great deal more.) And Shrek Forever after.... Well...
I will reserve judgement until i see it.

Lets's just say I'm not holding my breath....

Oh come on, the Shrek series has not even come close to doing everything yet! I for one am looking forward to Shrek 5's Freaky Friday scenario wherein Shrek switches bodies with Fiona after a big marital arguement and after crazy gender-specific shenanigans they learn a new important lesson on respect. Then Shrek can suffer amnesia from hitting his head on a rock and be brainwashed while finding his lost parents who abandoned him as an orphan. Meanwhile Donkey and Dragon have a time out from one another and start dating within their own species until Eddie Murphy realizes that big daffy lizard is the only thing that matters in his life, so he and his wacky friend Puss in Boots have to race to the airport during a pop music montage to find the heartbroken Dragon and apologize before she boards that plane to France, never to return! We'll play Baha Men over the entire thing!

Why, these ideas are pearls! Quick, somebody bring me a cigar and a leather executive chair!

Surely this will become an ever flimsy franchise for hanging product placements... Why can't cinema be allowed to have tiny little gems that do not get re-made, sequelled, prequelled... Such a shame. Anyway i'm off to see Predators, nothing like Predator i've been told and surely no product placements...

#5 - Despite both movies being about a clique of killers hunted in an arboreal environment by an alien, your informant is correct, Predators is nothing like Predator...
It seems to me that the makers have simply re-dressed the original movie; soldiers become mercs / murderers, one alien becomes several, Earth jungle setting becomes alien world jungle setting. They're essentially the same flick, in my book.

I thought it was better than part 3, if I'm honest. Totally agree about the voices becoming passe, although the mileage wrung from the Rumplestiltskin character was very entertaining. And, as kids quite frankly don't care how hard a dead horse is flogged, I think it has it's place.

I'm afraid that the series has had it's day. They should have stopped after the second movie. The third was imminently forgettable, so much so, I can't even remember the plotline.

Shrek = Dreck.

I went to see Shrek the 19th and really didn't care about the thrown together at the last minuet plot but only cared when Puss and Donkey were on screen doing there little double act.

Also it's not about anything like the first two were.

I loved it - possibly the best Shrek yet. We went with a 10 year old and an 8 year old and they loved it, too. I don't really know what there was to dislike about it... great story, great gags, beautiful animation... I'm getting slightly bored with the Kermode franchise, if anything. The 'Good Doctor' (hmmm....) drones on, week after week, pronouncing loudly on this and that and waving his arms about, never taking a breath and hating anything that isn't "Citizen Kane". Know what, Mark? Most films aren't "Citizen Kane". Get over it.
