The head of the IMF, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, is appearing in court in New York to face charges of sexual assault. Mr Strauss-Kahn, who had been seen as a contender in France's 2012 presidential election, denies allegations that he tried to rape a hotel maid on Saturday. His appearance had been delayed for forensic tests to be carried out.

Meanwhile, another allegation against Mr Strauss-Kahn has emerged. A French writer says she may file a complaint for an alleged sexual assault in 2002.

Tonight Peter Marshall will consider what impact this news will have on the political and cultural life of France, and we'll be joined in debate by French commentators Esther Leneman and Agnes Poirier.

Then Michael Crick will be asking if Lib Dem cabinet minister Chris Huhne is politically finished. A senior detective has been tasked with investigating claims he asked someone else to take his penalty points for a 2003 speeding offence, Essex Police say.

And on the day when the first coded bomb threat warning outside Northern Ireland has been received in a decade, Liz Mackean reports on Queen Elizabeth II's visit to Dublin tomorrow, when she'll become the first monarch to set foot in the Republic since George V.

We hope to be joined by Lord Major, the former prime minister credited with establishing the Northern Ireland Peace Process in the early 1990s.

CONNIVANCE IN THE AGE OF PERVERSITY

Just suffered some apologist for Westminster declaring, on Daily Politics, 'not all MPs bad'. He seemed not to realise that (with the exception of the fools) the knaves were ALL conniving at the dodgy goings-on.

The Kahn story and moving images splashed all over MSM is clear humiliation by those globalist in control of the MSM. (he was even being called frenchie in one video I viewed) Whats being said is going out to those in 'power' who are implementing a globalist agenda. Step out of line and this is what is going to happen.

Interestingly we had two serving finance ministers of two countries in the NN studios just days before this event. Id be interested to know when Osborne was last on NN in person? It will be equally interesting to see what events unfold in the days after this event.

    Re Strauss-Kahn

'An IMF report from January 2011 called for a stronger role for Special Drawing Rights (SDR) in order to stabilize the global financial system. According to the report, an expanded role for SDRs could help to stabilize the international monetary system. Furthermore, for most countries (except for those using the U.S. dollar as their currency) there would be several advantages in switching the pricing of certain assets, such as oil and gold, from dollars to SDRs. For some commentators that amounts to a call for a "new world currency that would challenge the dominance of the dollar".'

主播大秀 World News has basically trashed Kahn with a past allegation and moving image humiliation . A man who is to stand trial - its tell us that all impartiality in the 主播大秀 has gone and now its just propaganda. Kahn has stated through his lawyer that he was at a restaurant with his daughter at the time of the allegation . Did anyone at the 主播大秀 think to cantact the restaurant and check out the story - ask his daughter and other people at the restaurant waiters customers ? If this has been done are we going to be told if not why not ? and that question should been answered in the context of the 主播大秀 World News coverage and online material which basically trashes any idea of a fair trial . Its outrageous .

"The conspiracy theories are beginning to circulate on the internet but realistically there is no evidence for that."

We dont deal in conspiracy when we see moving image humiliation and past allegations pushed against him . And the 主播大秀 fails to state why bailouts are a nonsense in the context of unregulated naked credit default swaps .

    ENTRAPMENT?

Sometimes - through a quirk of nature - the Achilles Heel is located in the trousers.

It is well known that political dominance 'resides on the same gene'.

The Ape Confused by Language, has failed to organise his communities accordingly (lack of wisdom) and his Law is, thereby, frequently an ass.

    2. thanks Bross. windfarm wars (on TV) is enlightening - the emotional blackmail (it's YOUR responsibility, don't you CARE????) used by private companies and landowners to profit from the wind is unbearable. the GP don't know any better; primary schools have been guilt-tripping children for a decade now. I had to laugh when one old gent said, "yes I care, I want to protect this magnificent unspoilt view for my grand-children!".

If by the use of the phrase 'conspiracy theories', does the 主播大秀 mean 'coming to your own conclusion through analysing given facts', then perhaps the term 鈥榗onspiracy theory鈥 should be re-defined as 鈥業ntelligent Analysis鈥.

    'CONSPIRACY THEORY' - VERY ORWELLIAN-SPEAK (#11)

The mad thing is that Al Gore (0.5 Nobel Prize) launched the AGW theory and the 'military industrial govern-mental media complex' developed it to a full blown conspiracy.

You couldn't make it up - or do I mean: 'you could'.

I have comlained before that Susan Watts seems to have not one investigative bone in her chemistry set. The truth is out there - in full view - but you have to know how to look . . .

Re Huhne being interviewed by the police about speeding points.

Now I realise why so many MPs (some now Lords) were getting so hot-under-the-collar about the mobile phone hacking scandal. They believe they are above the law.

They expect to be able to go about their daily 'business' with total impunity.

"We hope to be joined by Lord Major, the former prime minister credited with establishing the Northern Ireland Peace Process in the early 1990s."

I think you'll find that it's SIR John Major who was the ex-PM and who is NOT in the House of Lords. It really says something when the 主播大秀 doesn't know what titles are held by people. Please get these things right !

  • Comment number 15.

    SMALL WONDER (#13)

That MPs believe themselves demi-gods. I maintain that anyone accruing the title HONOURABLE without any justification, is inclined to be corrupted by its very affixation. This is the essence of Westminster - dishonour entitled 鈥榟onourable鈥; how low can any institution go? And the fact that not one of the 640, so elevated, raises the impropriety of it, damns them all.

My MP is the epitome of this Westminster Malaise.

    AND ANOTHER THING (#14)

I remember Major saying it would make him 'sick to his stummick' to negotiate with the IRA (while contact was covertly current). What is more, I also remember Major telling on radio how (on a rainy day) the phone rang in his office, and it was the IRA, wanting to parley. Finally, I recall that the rapprochement was rushing ahead when suddenly, the Unionists (on whom Major relied for his majority) roared "NO". Major - equally suddenly - sprang a new condition that arms had to be put beyond use for any progress to be made. And in no time we had a lorry bomb.

Now he swans about using pompous, prissy phrasing, saying very little of import.

    WE HAD OURSELVES ANOTHER ONE.

just one thing bothers me....why would Kahn ring the hotel to say where he was and ask about his mobile phone if he was 'fleeing' from justice?

  • Comment number 20.

John Major's speech patterns were quite peculiar. Usually, at the end of every clause and sentence, the pitch of his voice dropped and he slowed down slighly. This not only made him sound boring and passionless, but also gave the impression that he did not really believe what he was saying. Contrast this say with its antithesis: the delivery of Enoch Powell, who always seemed to believe what he said, even if it turned out later that he had embellished the facts.

Its more than a bit sickening to hear Mr Brown talk like this given what he did - remove regulation for 10 years.

"They fear "with good cause" that if Greece has to restructure its debt - effectively default - it could unravel a chain of trades based on the problematic debt and lay bare the interconnectedness of institutions around the world, said Stephen Lewis, an analyst at Monument Securities."

Guess he is talking about unregulated unlimited naked credit default swaps.

Greece should absolutely default they have been at the wrong end of a massive scam by their govt and banks.

"popular consent for globalisation itself." Delusional

Its absolutely amazing isn't it. Just about the biggest fraud in history has been perpetrated; 40% of the worlds wealth has been taken out 100's of 1000's of people's lives ruined and the people who cause all this are still in place or free and the media especially the 主播大秀 almost completely ignored it. But when allegations of sexual harassment are made against a high profile man they are all over it replaying his humiliation walk over and over again all designed to whip up hatred for one man facing allegations. Don't get me wrong I really didn't like what he was about but the MSM response speak volumes more than the allegation in context of the massive financial crime and its effect on the lives of the public.

Said this before and will say it again nobody believes the MSM any more . The 主播大秀 has just become a laughing stock in its propaganda attempt.

    Well well well very interesting

"WASHINGTON -- A set of confidential federal audits accuse the nation鈥檚 five largest mortgage companies of defrauding taxpayers in their handling of foreclosures on homes purchased with government-backed loans, four officials briefed on the findings told The Huffington Post

The five separate investigations were conducted by the Department of Housing and Urban Development鈥檚 inspector general and examined Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase, Wells Fargo, Citigroup and Ally Financial, the sources said."

"The resulting reports read like veritable indictments of major lenders, the sources said. State officials are now wielding the documents as leverage in their ongoing talks with mortgage companies aimed at forcing the firms to agree to pay fines to resolve allegations of routine violations in their handling of foreclosures."

Oh yes its always a fine

    but

"In a report last week, analysts at Moody鈥檚 Investors Service predicted that while the losses incurred by the banks will be 鈥渟izable,鈥 the credit rating agency does 鈥渘ot expect them to meaningfully impact capital.鈥

The inference being the credit rating remains the same.

    Take a look at this:-

"Members of the Intercontinental clearinghouse will have to have a net worth of at least $5 billion and a credit rating of A or better to clear their credit-default swap trades. Intercontinental said in the statement today that all market participants such as hedge funds, banks or other institutions are open to become members of the clearinghouse as long as they meet these requirements"

"the first person to break the news of Strauss-Kahn鈥檚 arrest was an activist in Mr Sarkozy鈥檚 UMP party 鈥 who apparently knew about the scandal before it happened.

It's not relative. It's not relational. And the only context is sexism. What job a man does is irrelevant and how high up the social hierarchy a man is, is also irrelevant. Yes means Yes and No means No, However we dress, wherever we go.

    - don't really know what this means (for someone worried about language confusing people you sure don't make life easy for yourself!) but here's a stab...
Leadership in non-human primate groups is not based on the strongest, it is about brain i.e. guardianship and responsibility - see for instance a recent episode of Vet Adventures (leadership struggles in the chimp troup). There is no 'natural' urge to rape women. You could probably argue that testosterone levels vary (see Bondi Vet for replacement of dog testes with Neutricals) but we wouldn't consider that for humans and I'm not advocating it either, merely making a point of information about the nature of being.

Yes means Yes and No means No - anyone confused by that needs to read up on the politics of gender.

Does sound a tad radical, as does:

鈥渁nd left the door open to trying global warming "deniers" for crimes against humanity.鈥

However, the real crime against humanity is the conspiracy of silence regarding population increase as the major cause of the Earth鈥檚 many crises, from destruction of rainforests, to devastation of land by mining and oil drilling 鈥 all because there are 3 times as many mouths to feed as the day I was born - and still increasing.
