Ö÷²¥´óÐã

While may seem in its infancy to some, the event has actually been running for the best part of a decade in its previous incarnation as T on the Fringe.

For this year's event the organisers pulled out all the stops with guests ranging from Scottish favourites Biffy Clyro and Broken Records to pop act N-Dubz to electro house darlings Boys Noize to the legendary David Byrne. The name, however, on most peoples' lips this year was Faith No More. Mike Patton, Roddy Bottum, Billy Gould and Mike Bordin reformed last year and tongues were set a-wagging with many wondering when they'd return to Scotland.

The waiting finally came to an end on a cold wet August evening when rock fans made their way in their droves to the Corn Exchange.

Opening with the John Barry epic "Midnight Cowboy" and quickly following it up with crowd favourites "From Out of Nowhere" and "Be Aggressive", the band showed that time had definitely not taken the edge off their performance and Patton's phenomenal vocal range has lost none of its power.

Working their way through material spanning their entire career including "Last Cup of Sorrow" and "I Started A Joke" (dedicated to all the sad, lonely men out there) they never dropped a beat and interspersed the set with banter and friendly crowd abuse in equal measures. Towards the end of the set Patton invited an overjoyed girl to join him on stage for a duet, in which she duly took part. Holding the audience together with ease, all arms aloft, Patton's exchange about sweaty Edinburgh armpits led to a swift lick to his armpit by girl, who was swiftly despatched back to the crowd with an, "nice knowing ya lady, now get out of here".

Continuing the Faith No More tradition of working in somewhat unusual tracks into the set - the Eastenders theme tune made an appearance on two occasions - leading into "Easy" and following an epic crowd chant moment during "Midlife Crisis".

The night drew to a close with Patton slipping into crooner mode for "Just a Man" and the house lights came up once again on Faith No More in Scotland.
