主播大秀

For the first time since I was a pint size Kevin Keegan fan I will NOT watch anymore 主播大秀1 live World Cup matches at home.
Why? I know Im not the only but I cannot stand for a second longer the torturous voice of the guy with the boring monotone 'broad yorkshire' accent, continuouslly interrupting the commentator on all the 主播大秀1 matches. Who the heck is he, why did you hire him? I have searched everywhere but cant find his name on the Beeb website or on the Credits after the matches. I need his name so I can instruct a solicitor to apply for a 'Gagging order' at the High Court.

He spoils the otherwise very listenable & eloquent commentary, by butting in with his incoherent and barley audible random blurbs. What on earth where the program producers thinking of, when they launched into this kind of commenatry practice? I have a funny feeling he is some old great footballer, but just cant stop myself from tuning off when this guy butts into the running commenatry with his absurd tupennys worth. If anyone can please show me an alternative to the next 主播大秀 world cup match broadcasts, I would be eternally grateful & it would definately help me from going mad.

So far, I've watched the three England matches in four different places. The first game, against Paraguay, I watched on the big screen at a church community centre, the second was split between a pub near where I work for the first half and then a TV at work for as much of the second half as I could catch (I was in a studio doing my regular slot for the first 20 minutes of the second half - not that anyone was listening, I'm sure!), then the third game at home.

I have to confess that I found the atmosphere in and around the pub for the T&T game somewhat intimidating. The last time I watched an England game in a pub (a lunchtime game at WC2002), it was all very relaxed. But this time, the streets outside were crawling with police, who were obviously expecting trouble, and I had to submit to an airline-style scanning (including emptying my pockets) before getting into the pub. Inside, the mood, though not ugly, certainly had an edge.

Overall, I think I'm happiest watching the games in the comfort of my own home, with a beer in one hand and a bag of crisps in the other (sorry, Gary, not the ones you advertise!). And if the match is less than enthralling, I can always use the computer to catch up with stuff on the Internet to keep me from getting bored while watching.

It is a big chance for the fans who have not got the ticket to go the stadium to watch it in the giant screen. German authority made this chance for sure to ensure the access of everybody to the world cup. Sometimes watching football match at home is more convenient as one can watch the slow motion and replay of the important part of the game but to be in the stadium is all about passion and something special.

I'll be watching the England against Ecuador match in one of the many British pubs spread throughout South Florida.

Sure, I can watch it on high-definition TV at home, but watching it at the pub with your mates is much better.

Be sure to visit to see pictures of everyone going mental in the pub, plus I'll be watching the Argentina against Mexico match in an Argentinian steakhouse (and will be uploading pictures from there, too).

I shall be wathing EngvEcu from Hillsdale NY, USA via ESPN - I shall be expecting an english defeat.....although I want them to win, they just aren't a very good side and the manager is Sven worse.

Ill be watching the game in a pub called the HUB in Osaka in Japan.
Wearing my england goodies, Ill also take my 2pound england glass with me to drink from while watching the game.
The Japanese coverage is funny, although my understanding of the language is average at best I cant halp to laugh at the commentators love of Sir Peter (not Mr Beardsley) who they fondly call...CrouchIE....hilarious.

Score for the game a convincing 3-0 stuffing of the south americans and yes Walcott will come on and score, I believe Sven has not used him as he doesnt want the oppostion to know too much about him, the group was always going to be easy, now the game really starts.
England winners of the comp for sure, lets hope we get the Aussies in the semis and stuff the french in the final....here's hoping.

I'll be watching it at home on the big screen. Why? It kicks off at 11pm in Hong Kong and I need to be at work early on Monday morning. That would mean at 1am finish barring extra time and penalties (can't go through them again). I would go out to watch it but live far from the city and the transportation shuts down here around 1am. Oh well, I find you get more into the game at home, suffering every throw-in and corner that the opposition get against England. At least I can go hide in the kitchen/bathroom for the penalites, in the pubs there is little escape due to congestion.

All these blogs are great, can we have one that gets behind the team for the next game, only positive feedback, true believers, no doubters. Beckham, Rooney et al lovers only, lets get behind the boys and get ready for a party on sunday.
I have a bloody exam on monday morning and the game kicks off here Sunday at 12am in Japan but no worries I'll be there believing!!!

This is my first world cup since moving to Canada, and I will be watching it in a tiny town called Sparwood with my girlfriend at 9am. A town of 1200 people, and where I will be suprised if anyone would have even noticed that the world cup is on, let alone watch the game. I have yet been able to watch a game live due to work, so I am counting down the days. I live in Calgary and today I saw three cars with England car flags on. The boys have our support even from a place where cowboys and hockey rules.

Even though we have played so poor so far this world cup, I just have this funny feeling we are due to meet Argentina in the final. Lets just hope Sven doesnt go and do anything too stupid and stop the boys from playing their natural game.

I will be watching England v Ecuador on ESPN in a private home here in America. (There are no bars within 100 miles that will be showing the game).

And because the 主播大秀 will not allow me (a UK licence-fee payer) to turn off the sound and listen instead to Radio 5 commentary via the internet, the commentators will be American.

They will continually refer to the "EPL", "zero-zero ties", "the score at the end of the first period" and "plays", as in, 'let's see that attempted Crouch play again' [no, please don't let's].... They can't spot the difference between the Coles at fifty paces, and think we have a central defender called Rye-Oh. But they will have several thousand statistics at their disposal, such as "Team England have not beaten Team Sweden in one thousand and eight minutes of regular-time play")

There will be no John Motson, no pre-match build up, no team getting off the bus, no Laurence Olivier-esque montages, no panel of pundits, certainly no pitch side OB.

I will be watching the England/Ecuador match from here in Melbourne, Australia. It will be midnight local time.

Actually kick off will be 1 am Monday morning in Melbourne,Australia and I will still watch the match all the same.

I have been watching all my games from home. I do not like how games are clashing at the moment. It makes it impossible to watch every game live. I have watched as many minutes of football as I can so far.

Well I'll be watching all the nerve-wracking, buttock clenching build-up in a local with a few hundred similarly nervous people- my only woryy is if I'll be wearing teh right shirt- the Red one or the White one??? It's all too much!!

I will be watching the Ecuador game from the Secret Garden Bar in Bali along with lots of other English (and a few antagonistic Scots who will be lurking in the shadows).

I will be in the same place tonight cheering on the Aussies. I have total confidence they'll never dominate this sport like %99 of the others they participate in.

But who knows?

My chemistry teacher gave us updates on th efirst game in the group stage and i would try to sneak out of class as often as possible to check the scores and match updates in the computer lab. I could usually get home to watch the second half of the last game. My dad also wrote me notes so I could go and watch the England games in the only pub in town that shows them! But now it's exams so I can't watch the first games. And I have to find some way to watch eng v ecu when i'm at my cottage this weekend (no cable!!)

WES, if you read this (or anyone else from down under) i am looking for a mrlbourne venue to watch the ENG vs. ECU game tonight... any ideas?
