Arena – Ö÷²¥´óÐã Two

Arena, the Ö÷²¥´óÐã’s influential arts strand, introduced a new documentary style in 1979 with My Way and The Private Life Of The Ford Cortina in 1982. It produced the acclaimed No Direction Ö÷²¥´óÐã – Bob Dylan directed by Martin Scorsese and The Agony And The Ecstasy of Phil Spector. Forthcoming subjects include T.S. Eliot as part of the Ö÷²¥´óÐã’s Poetry season.

The Edinburgh Festival Show – Ö÷²¥´óÐã Two

In August The Culture Show will once again cover the Edinburgh International Festival and Fringe with The Edinburgh Festival Show installed in its now traditional home at the Pleasance Courtyard. There is also comprehensive Edinburgh Festival coverage on Radio 3, Radio 4, Ö÷²¥´óÐã Radio Scotland and Ö÷²¥´óÐã Scotland.

Front Row – Radio 4

Mark Lawson, John Wilson and Kirsty Lang present a live magazine programme every weekday evening throughout the year covering the arts, literature, film, media and music. The programme reaches more than 2.2 million listeners a week. Last year, Front Row announced the winner of the Art Fund Prize for Museum Of The Year, after reporting from the shortlisted museums in Bristol, Woking, the Shetland Islands and London. The programme reported from Liverpool, in its year as European Capital Of Culture, while guests included Damien Hirst, John le Carré, Akram Khan, Daniel Barenboim, 1999 Turner prize winner Steve McQueen and Rose Tremain, whose Orange Prize for fiction was announced live on the programme.

Imagine – Ö÷²¥´óÐã One

Ö÷²¥´óÐã One’s award-winning arts strand, presented by Alan Yentob, returns in Spring 2009. The new series will include a film about Sadler’s Wells’ Company Of Elders – a group who discovered dance and performance later in life. There will also be a film with unprecedented access over two years to British artist David Hockney. Imagine will also be covering the Manchester International Festival with a film about Rufus Wainwright.
