The Church of England's links to the slave trade have been slowly uncovered in recent years and in the past week, it has announced a 拢100m fund to be paid to communities affected by slavery.

It was revealed last year that the Church Commissioners of England, a body administering the church's assets, had invested part of a 300 year-old fund in the South Sea Company, which traded in African slaves.

That fund is worth more than ten billion pounds today and is used to support the Church's projects across the world.
