Fishy tales from Kilkeel on Countryside this week as presenter, Nicola Weir, finds out more about the state of the fishing industry here from those who have been immersed in it for generations. Nicola speaks to Lesley Girvan who has been a fisherman for 65 years and tells of the ups and downs over six decades. Harry Wick, Chief Executive Officer of the Northern Ireland Fish Producers Organisation says new blood and investment is needed to keep the industry afloat and Nicola also hears from father/daughter fishing duo, Brian and Erin Chambers. Brian is an 8th generation fisherman from Kilkeel and has passed the enthusiasm for fishing onto his 20 year old daughter, Erin, who is determined to make it a career.
