    The Story

For any musician, Glastonbury is one of those festivals they aspire to play at.

With the likes of Adele, David Bowie and Coldplay performing over the years, it's surely any young musician's dream.

Our very own AKA George, who's 21-years-old and from Leominster, did just that!

Last weekend, he performed on the 主播大秀 Introducing stage - after sending his music into us!

We first met George four years ago when he was writing 17 songs, every 17 days, for his 17th birthday album '17 days'.

In 2013, we put him on stage at SnodFest, near Pershore, and passed his track No Idea onto 主播大秀 Radio 1, who added it to their daytime playlist.

Just one year later, we had him perform for us at the Wychwood Festival, where he released 'Animal Keeper' which we, again, got onto Radio 1.

Later that year, we passed his music onto 主播大秀 Radio 2 who put him on in Hyde Park.

"A true gentleman and a remarkable performer" - Andrew Marston, 主播大秀 Introducing in Hereford & Worcester.

T In The Park

T In The Park

After the success of sending Leominster's AKA George to Glastonbury, last weekend, and Bromyard's Remi Harris to the Montreal Jazz Festival, this weekend, we're delighted to announce we're sending Hay-on-Wye's Cherryshoes off to T In The Park next weekend!

Apart from their lead singer, they all like to remain anonymous - and even wear masks, on stage, to hide their faces.

In their own words: "We're boiling up a powerful and heady mix of magical mercurial disharmony, persistent pulsating rhythm and an extraordinary spellbinding vocal".

The collective were united by the spirit of the singer's hill-farming, street-fighting, glam-rocking, crossdressing biker uncle - who's sadly no longer with us.

They sing about mad pre-madonnas, real life vampires, wild horses, obsessional love and stalking, all of which will appear on their new album recorded by Jim Eliot - the man who produces Ellie Goulding, Will Young, Kylie Minogue, Rae Morris and Olly Murs.

主播大秀 Introducing at Glastonbury

主播大秀 Introducing at Glastonbury

More than 30 acts have taken to the 主播大秀 Introducing stage at this year's Glastonbury Festival, after sending their music into us.

But how does the selection process work?

Well, our reporter Dan Roberts has been down at Worthy Farm chatting to Yasser, from the Asian Network, who's on the panel.

Glamping

Glamping

The market for glamping - posh, or glamorous camping - is booming.

Forget muddy canvas tents, when you're glamping, some have sofas, stoves and flushable loos.

It's also big business for the festival economy, being on offer at events all over our area.

Princess Goulding?

Princess Goulding?

Is Prince Harry secretly courting Herefordshire's Ellie Goulding?

There are reports in many of the papers about developments in Prince Harry's love life, after he was spotted with Ellie at a polo event.

Bookmakers are offering odds of 5-1 that the pair confirm they are dating, 50-1 that he proposes before the end of the year and 100-1 that they wed!

Reviews

Our reviews, this week, come from one of the most prolific event organisers in Worcester - Faithful City Shows.

The team is known for supporting tonnes of local bands while bringing bigger names to the city, such as Funeral For A Friend and MC Devo.

Sound Therapy

Sound Therapy

It's one of the most devastating diseases, that can see the person you once knew fade away, with 850,000 patients and their families currently battling dementia in Britain.

That number of sufferers is set to raise to one million by 2025 with nearly two thirds of us likely to be affected by dementia in some shape or form.

However, a new study in Worcester looking at the affects sound therapy has on patients is - at least - yielding some significant results.

主播大秀 Introducing at the Nozstock Festival

We'll bring the bands - all we need now is the fans!

None of these artists knew they were being considered for a live session - they were chosen based on the tracks they听.
