Lucy Goldie

Comedy actor

Our cast of comedy geniuses may be unknown to you as yet so we sent the show's producer Gerald Strother along to find out more, Gerald meets Lucy...

Give me a couple of lines about yourself. What have you done? What’s your background? Professionally speaking…

I trained at the . My credits include: My Beast Friend (Ö÷²¥´óÐã); Miracle Park (MillarWorld); Exodus 21:24 (Haphazard Media); The Idiot at the Wall (Scottish Tour/ Stoirm Ã’g); MacPherson's Rant (Byre Theatre) and Tartuffe (Oran Mor). At the moment I'm working on the development of new play 'Spectretown' (Stoirm Ã’g / Cumbernauld Theatre).

Tell me some comedy stuff that you like. Programmes, stand ups… what makes ya giggle?

My favourite comedy shows are ; ; and . The TV series of is up there too, is a genius. I love the movies Best in Show, Meet the Parents, Zoolander and Liar Liar. Anything with Jim Carey, Will Ferrell or Ben Stiller - I love squirmy, awkward comedy! I also love the classics; said it all with a single look.

Erm, something about filming or rehearsing with us. Was ANY of the experience enjoyable? (Lunch can be included in your fond memory if that was the best bit or you can just big me up. No?)

My 'best bits' from filming include playing a posh lady who is trying to 'rally the troupes' to gain a referendum vote for the English - her naivety and witless enthusiasm were really fun to play; 's rendition of the national anthem God Save the Me had us all in stitches once the camera was cut; and the best bit of all - the huge meringue I had as a prop in the tea room scene - it was a delicious treat after we wrapped!
