Jon is a big darts fan and began playing in his early teens. His most intense period of playing was during his university days.

As a child, Jon used to go and watch his Dad play in pub darts tournaments.

Jon says his best darting victory was when he beat his Dad (also called Jon) as a child. They used to call their matches, ‘The Battles of the Jon Richardson’s’.

Jon’s favourite double on the dartboard is 16. He says his relationship with it is complex, as although he likes it, it doesn’t seem to like him.

For the tournament, Jon is having a beer towel and some wet wipes with him at all times so he can keep his hands clean.

Deta is a former Ladies World Masters winner and three times BDO World Championship runner up. As well as being a pro darts player, Deta has a full time job with the Royal Mail.

Deta was runner up in the Ladies WDF World Cup Singles tournament 2015. She was also runner up in the 2012, 2014 and 2015 BDO Women’s World Championships and has been awarded BDO Ladies Personality of the Year six times. She was also awarded BDO Ladies Player of the Year on four occasions.

At the 2005 Budweiser UK Open, Deta become the first lady to defeat a male player in a televised major. She won 4-3 against Aaron Turner.
