Obviously I am not one to bring down anyone who is out there to do well by using their God given talents but if there are groups or agents who are out for themselves but are introducing our young artists to drugs then I feel we need to put a stop to all this. Praise God my cousin has not joined a group such as that. Really my whole point is that this Te Vaka band portrays the best in our polynesian people...good health, morals and most of all, the mixed races they have within their band encourages the rest of us to become one.'

'Their natural instruments soothe my soul, they can get you hyped and amped up, then with those sweet voices they can massage your inner emotions, they're just totally spellbinding. Let me tell you a true story.. I am a Seargent in the U.S. Army and a couple of years ago I was deployed to Kosovo, after a hard day of work, me and a group of about eight or nine soldiers retreated to our quarters to rest and prepare for the next day of hard work, all of a sudden one of the soldiers puts in a CD that was sent to him by his family, it was Te Vaka, now the funny thing about it was he was the only one who understood anything they were singing about, but the beauty of their music totally caught everybody in a trance. Te Vaka is an Inspiration to my life.'
