"Sweetness, sweetness I was only joking when I said I'd like to smash every tooth in your head..."

Harry from Gatehouse has suggested that I do a separate post of each of this week's themes as it makes it easier to follow in the new blog format. I hope you are getting used to the new look and are finding it easy to register and post.

For tonight we are going back to 'iconic first lines' as there were so many of them came in last time. I only had time to get around to half of then so I'm looking forward to doing the rest tonight. Check out Neil martin's first lines quiz elsewhere on the blog. great fun.

I've got another cracking summer mix tape lined up for the second half of tonight's show. Not to be missed.

Phew - made it here eventually. Bryan, great if you are going to put up the themes individually. But please put them up for the whole week so that we can do our 'homework'.

For tonight how about 'I was born in a force five hurricane - and I yelled at my ma in the driving rain ....' Jumping Jack Flash

Like the suggestion, Julie. Would 'Plaistow Patricia' also be a good one for this theme? ;-)

What about "I always flirt with death, I look ill but I don't care about it"?

Can't remember all the tracks played first time round but here are a couple of suggestions:

Trudging slowly over wet sand back to the place where your clothes were stolen - Morrissey Every Day is Like Sunday

I was staying at the Marriott, with Jesus and John Wayne - Warren Zevon My Ride's Here

and the boss at his brilliant best on Thunder Road.....

The screen door slams, Marys dress waves, like a visison she dances across the porch as the radio plays.....

    Cheers

    Hi Bryan and Team
How about "Oh I just died in your arms tonight, it must have been something you said" I always preferred "it must have been something you ate!"

Really looking forwrad to the Dylan covers and there are so many gems to pick from including Emmylou's fantastic version of Every Grain of Sand, Springsteen with Chimes of Freedom, Bobs allegedly favourite version of one of his songs in Elvis covering Tommorow is a Long Time, nanci Griffithy Boots of Spanish leather, and loads of Ferry choices.

I would really like to nominate a strangely brilliant version of My Back Pages by the Magokoro Brothers which is sung entirely in Japanese and bizarrely is so good you cannot help but try and sing along! (easy to get its on Dylans Masked and Anonymous Soundtrack)

    Cheers Norrie MacLean, renfrew
