#1 Thanks Adam, it's all just a bit of fun for me. I don't take it too seriously.

#2 There's a lot more than Street Life up here, you will see in my main post in the main blog I like loads of different artists and don't listen to BF/RM any more than many of the stuff I have at home.

#3 I happen to know lots about BF/RM as it is part of a job I do for them. I have done some work for them and and associated work for Ö÷²¥´óÐã etc. I have probably the biggest collection of Roxy records, memorabilia etc that I know of but despite that you would never know I was a fan if you came into my house as I don't have any of this on my walls etc, I don't wear music T-shirts as a rule (well a rule of my personal trainer wife telling me I am too fat for them)

You are right about the Newmark/Spenner thing on Beauty Stab, Phil Manzanera also plays on ABC's Abracadabra

#5 Nice one Glen, it made me laugh. Also it is worth noting that Andy Mackay wrote the music for the Rock Follies TV series in the '70s and there is a song there called 'Glen Miller Is Missing' on those albums and DVDs
I am sure as you say many people are tired of Bryan Ferry, myself included at times as like anyone with such a large body of work he has released some sub-standard stuff. He has just done a duet with Charles Aznavour on the new Duets album by CA, totally pointless distraction form Ferry's real work if you ask me. I just see it as a bit of fun on here limting myself to one band as it makes it more difficult and interesting for me to find songs for the themes.
It would be obvious that BF will not be everyone's cup of tea and I can appreciate that. There are many very successful artists I can't see the attraction in artists like Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, Dire Straits, Phil Collins, Oasis but for some reason they are all huge and I am happy for anyone who likes them but they are just not my cup of tea.


#6 Bryan Ferry actually has done some sea shanties. He did two songs on an album called Rouge's Gallery that included Sting, Bono and many others.

Now where did I put my thermos and festive anorak ;-)
