I dont know if this song exactly meets the theme. A Rodney Crowell song first sung by Emmylou Harris I'm pretty sure and Willie Nelson did a reasonable version on the Honeysuckle Rose movie with Emmylou, but this version is incredible. Willie should do a proper studio version! (maybe he has)

Actually, there are later versions by Jack Bruce as a solo artist which blow all previous versions out of the water.

The GIO/Radio Scotland team have no interest in the music of one of Scotland's truly original talents - though I did once persuade them to play an Ella cover of 'Sunshine of your Love'.

Will be hearing Jack Bruce on the Barbara Dickson Scottish Songbook Show - or will it be 'Sunshine on Leith'?
