I think this is one of the most delightful pieces of recorded music ever made - breathtakingly controlled and beautifully put together from one of the world's best kept secrets, 'The Colour Of Spring' album. Ironically,it comes at you out of the ether, straight from heaven. Matched only by a track on the later Spirit Of Eden album called 'I Believe In You'

and if ever there was a night for Dreadzone...with all their spiritual positivity, this has to be it..the early Dreadzone had Melanie Blatt, Denise Van Outen and Alison Goldfrapp as backing singers. I suppose Walk Tall is a reasonably untypical Dreadzone track (mellow and radio friendly) but it deals with hope, aspiration and the concept of the resurrection of the soul.It begins with the singer awaiting a signal from his God...'she makes me wait' he sings...how does he know? About the triumph of hope over circumstance, an anthem for the times we find ourselves in.

yep, one of my favourite records of all time - a remarkable record and the only Procol Harum track I can recall which does not feature Gary Brooker on lead vocals.I always felt Mike Olfield was influenced by the tubular bells on the end of this. We use it as the playout track in the fourth episode of the henri hannah radio show.Apologies for the spelling error on Harum in #59 above - I have to squeeze these posts in between the events of the day.It's all a bit rushed.

Yep.. truly awesome. As explained in an earlier post, because I'd seen them there back in 1996 I took my ear plaugs along, fearing I wouldn't hear for the next two weeks, which is what happened back then.... but I mostly took them out. There aren't good enough superlatives really, though people didn't seem as out of it as they were in 96 and the volume didn't seem so loud this time - though it was still a fair old racket. The light show was amazing. I thought Space Shanty was the track of the night.

As close as we'll get to a religious experience any time soon.
