Not exactly positive - no, I take that back or it won't have a hope. A very "make the best of it" approach to the business of life, living and folk. As good as it gets usually works for me.

I had quite a long list for tonight's theme (Thursday) but I'm glad I didn't bother.

The theme should have been 'blindingly obvious tracks from big selling albums'.

Am I seriously expected to believe that I'm alone skipping 'Within- Without You' and 'When I'm Sixty Four' and beginning side two with 'Lovely Rita'?

I'm not that familiar with it, but surely there must be another track on Bat Out Of Hell?

Yes, 'Dusty in Memphis' - though it's not completely superb - but 'Son Of A Preacher Man' again?

Someone text'd in for 'The Colour Of Spring' by talk talk - every track is a more brilliant revelation than the last, but no chance.

Ironically(coming from me) Deacon Blue was the track of the night, it's the first time I've heard Rikki and Lorraine sounding like a soul combo..and it works.

The last two or three years have been strange and difficult for everyone in commerce and I'm no different - guiding a business through difficult times is one of the most bewildering exasperating and all consuming challenges anyone can attempt - or at least, I have found it to be so.It has its own un-recognised rewards, I suppose, but even at your most creative, they don't rush in with a gold record.

Anyway - after umpteen attempts at getting the under noted played, the perfect theme turns up - these are the tracks that keep me going and keep me up on the down days.

After 8pm, half way back to civilisation, I put an album I hadn't heard in years on ayechoons & especially enjoyed the tracks not normally heard on radio.

I complain because I care. I want to be able to recommend Get it On without reservation as a show which offers entertainment and an education. (Shades of Lord Reith?) At the moment I feel unable to do so.

If I knew the solution I would have Jeff's job. I do know that the team have to perform an extremely difficult balancing act. It is also my considered opinion that there exists room for improvement.

Again, I complain because I care. Were it not so, I would be listening to something else on the radio between 6 & 8.

At one point last night the phrase "let's have something new" was used, really? The newest stuff was from last year.....what about this year's model? Destined to be a modern classic, all the way from 2011, what a missed opportunity! So here it is....third different track requested from "The Deep Field" this week. Third time lucky?

I don't understand why someone who's willing to take a punt with a band like Admiral Fallow - I love them but I'm fairly sure they're not to everyone's taste - is either unwilling or not allowed to try other new bands, be they less heard 'old' bands or current. Revealing comment this week - 'used to play Jackson Browne a lot when sitting in for Ian Anderson, think the producer was a big fan'.
To be fair I did get the Avett brothers last week to my happy surprise (and yes, sorry, I know the lyrics didn't work, I didn't think that one through), but I'd love for that sort of thing not to be such a surprise
