This seems a perverse choice. A cursory glance at today's events shows Elvis recording That's All Right Mama, John and Paul meeting, the premiere of A Hard Day's Night and Jefferson Airplane forming. In this context, religious freedom in Bohemia (a country only remembered for inventing lager) is not an obvious lapel-grabber.

Re the Beck track "devil's haircut" is a Dutch expression meaning a song you can't get out of your head. I learned this from my big Dutch mate, Leo, who arrives in Scotland on Friday and is quite the bohemian himself!

Hello, Thing-Fish - good to see you back! Moondog certainly fits the bill. You'd think.


No stooshies, we're all too jaded.

What was once considered Bohemian is now the lifestyle of the average 14 year old.

Moondog was on the Fill Your Head With Rock sampler. Stamping Ground (?) wasn't one of the tracks I followed up. Johnny Winter's I Love Everybody is a cracker.

It has long been contentious whether it is Stomping or Stamping. The label says Stamping, the sleeve says Stomping (twice). There can be no middle ground - it is either one or the other. Perhaps he did it deliberately to generate a stooshie. The choice of a Viking costume was no accident.
