I would invite Morrissey and serve him a starter of Chicken Liver pate followed by a 10 oz sirloin steak with a garnish of ham and chorizo. I think it's disgusting that he kills vegetables and plants for food. They live and breathe and reproduce and I don't think they should be harmed. Plants are our friends!

By the way the guy at the traffic lights beside me tonight was listening to Get it on.

I only know cos he was keeping perfect time to the drummin of Glad all Over on his steering wheel!

#2 Paolo - he managed to persuade the restaurant opposite the Horsecross Theatre (and the restaurant within the theatre, too) not to serve any meat the night he played there. And then subjected his audience to a video backdrop of abattoirs and animal cruelty as if they needed that graphic nudge out of their blind, thoughtless meat-eating ways. He's without doubt passionate and sincere, but he took it just too far when he stated that what happened in Norway was nothing compared to what happens in MacD's every day. Sorry, Morrissey - you're not going to win any converts with that one. So, paolo, he's all yours - good luck, but dinnae be too harsh.

I'd quite like to invite Robert Smith round to swap make-up and hairdo tips and ask him to bring his pal Spiderman to sort out dinner. Oops, that would be me on the menu.

I would invite Enya's big sister round for dinner. We would start with;

Cream of Turnip & Potato soup.

Followed by;

Roast Potatoes with Brussels Sprouts & Broccoli.

The highlight is;

Colcannon! (Mashed Potatoes with Cabbage).

And for Dessert;

Chips & Baked Beans

All washed down with Gallons of Guinness! (Other Irish Stouts are available).

Until last Saturday I'd nearly forgotten how much I enjoy going out and socialising so I'm going for 3 nights in a row

Monday, those Kassidy lads are coming to tea. At least two of them look as if they need a good feed so we'll have

steak pie, mash, stir-fry mange-touts and carrots,
home-made ice-cream with toffee sauce.
Lewis's Mum rescues injured bats so what with my dad having been a vet we'll have plenty to chat about.

by #brownies. I don't suppose he'll be able to remember much about Woodstock, but it would still be great to talk to someone who was there.

I'd be happy to have dinner with a down-to-earth singer, not some mega-rich 'star' with an over-inflated opinion of him/herself.

Rab Noakes springs immediately to mind.

I would serve something easy like East Neuk scallops on Stornoway black pudding for a starter, followed by lobster with mayonnaise and a touch of pepper with a fresh salad and tomatoes from my garden, dressed in a good extra virgin greek olive oil, as an accompaniment. A chilled Chablis would wash down the main course.

The chat would be about food and music.

I'd serve beef carpaccio, conchiglioni ripieni al forno with my extra special onion focaccia, and tortoni with chocolate truffle cups to Steve Earle and Allison Moorer, and ask them to sing "Goodbye" as they leave.

Pizza and chips and a mars bar - all deep fried - for "his old heart of mine" by the Isley Brothers.

@2 as the rearer of fine Aberdeen Angus beef on my wee farm I don't think Morrisey will want to come to me for tea even though they are reared on grass and I love and care for them from cradle to grave and don't pump them full hormones etc I take them to the abattior I give them a pat and say a wee prayer and then look forward to celebrating their life weeks later(after its matured) when its sitting on my dinner plate

So an open invite to any musical artist that likes good honest food and can play my piano/guitar and sing because I cant

Please organise a night out as I was away and missed the last one

I think it would be great fun to invite someone I know almost nothing about and go a voyage of discovery.

Recently, I've been stumbling across things I didn't really 'get' at the time ( Dave & Ansell Collins etc)and have started to become intrigued by.One of them is Donna Summer's - Bad Girls album. World class.

I've realised that in her 'Bad Girls' persona, Donna and Moi could have a fine old time to ourselves. She can tell me about making 'Love To Love You,Baby' and I can tell her about the excitement of underwriting commercial insurance.

Booze: As many bottles of decent Chablis & excellent Margaux as required.

Dinner:
Starter
half portion Penne Arrabiata (as you know, all great realisations occur whilst eating Penne Arrabiata)

Main:

Scallops cooked with hint of garlic,lemon and chilli served on freshly cooked spinach with strips of mozzarella.

After that, anything can happen..Will there be a pudding?.. who cares...it'll be time to Dim All The Lights - Donna Summer

I'm sure all her life's achievements will pale into insignficance as her girlish heart flutters to learn that eminent bloggers consider her "easy on the eye". Welcome to 2011.

I would like to invite someone who had the chance to be hugely influential, play in some great bands and work with some fantastic musicians. He had a priveleged upbringing but a fairly troubled life. Going out in strange circumstances with his body stolen and set on fire by his pals. He can tell me what it was like to hang out with Keith Richards, what it was like to be in the Byrds, The International Submarine Band and the Flying Burrito Brothers, the unfluence he had on Emmylou Harris. He can tell me what it was like to record with the Elvis band.

I think the feast would need to be Southern USA food, a jambalaya, cajum shrimp and chicken. We would drink a good bottle of tequila.

But best of all Gram Parsons and I would both be kitted out in suits made for the night by Nudie Cohn. We would listen to the fantastic tribute album and I would also invite all the bloggers and GIO team (maybe better ghet more tequila):

Folk aren't as shallow as some of their comments might appear here - "been there, done that". A big mistake to take anything on face value without grasping the context.
