Robert Cray certainly made my car go faster the first time I went to see him, Paolo - I'd a very young child at home and had to get her to bed before I set off for Edinburgh's Playhouse with something ridiculous like an hour to get there from Greenock, find a parking space and find my way to the Playhouse. Anyway, I did and it was a fantastic concert, all the better for being the first gig I braved all by myself. I realised of course as soon as I got there that I wasn't by myself, I was with a few thousand other folk who liked the same kind of music.

The best gig of his I was at was when BB King was there too - that was one of those really special one-off sort of concerts. Can still see the great man just standing there, smile on his face, the music just soaring as if there weren't an instrument getting in the way of the sound. The other people I can think of who have that same effect are Eric Clapton (also in the Playhouse) and just last week on the telly, Lang Lang at the piano.

Good point DC, but undetered I have one!

Well, there you have it. i always thought the guys at Apple (records) certainly knew how to turn a few quid but i'm amazed to say they have been completely outdone.

Today I recieved an invitation from a famus onine retailer of music to survey their dazzling collection of cd box sets.

The Beatles remasters crunches in at a hefty £157.97 however, unbelievably by far and a away the most expensive cd box set is the complete works of The Smiths at an eye watering £221.97.

I don't think we'll be taking lectures from the likes of Morrissey on how we should live.

Meat is Protein, this is Murder. Imagine no possessions etc etc...
