So pleased to hear the Foos! Mange takk! My (then) teenaged son played and sang it as part of his party piece set a few years ago when I first requested it.... Better late than never. ;o)
Scotch - Clare in the Community is a repeat. Radio 4's current comedy and drama output is full of repeats. Not all bad, right enough. And no connection to your Freddie comment, BTW.

i have quite a tolerant (sometimes) teenage companion to music events.
she did once complain that she was the youngest in the 'ali and phil' audience in the whitehall theatre.......nivver mind , i said.....just wait till the end and i'm gonnae get them tae sign the ticket...WWWWHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTT????.
so i dragged her back into the empty theatre where the 2 geniuses were packing up their stuff from the stage and cheerily signed the ticket for me...result.
another time while waiting in the edinburgh snow to ferry her and her pals back to glascu....her heroes walked right past her at the stage door after the girls had waited in the freezin' temperature.(no names)
and when we make epic through the night time drives, like, to go to the open championship and the guy on radio 2 asks you to txt where you're going.....she'll happily txt in as my TFC!!!.
and so in my quest for decent free music she was quite happy to accompany me to see.......gaga, pitbull and beaver (i don't give a dam)....was the 12 hour wait in times square worth it? (without toilets!!!).......yeah, of course it was.
so this is what she's asked for , a band when in glasgow, she'll happily wait at the end and they talk for ages.......i quite like this too...

My 17 year old step son, Iain, and myself trooped off to see Paulo's boy in Aerial's Up last Saturday.

I'm remarkably close to all my kids and music is a common bond between us all - a privilege to be included. Iain is a talented bass player and very much onto what's cool hip and trendy. His musical heros are Flea form the Red Hot Chilli peppers and Jack Bruce.

We liked Aerials Up - and with a seven piece band you've got to feel total confidence in the drummer - however things pan out for the band I can tell you Paulo's boy has a good future, one of two impressive drummer's I've seen recently - (the other was Ross Macfarlane at the Big Dish gig). He also looks the part.

Aerial's Up have obviously built the local fan base,so they are already well on the way - and seven of them on stage is quite an impressive sight once they get going - the playing is accomplished.

The songs are good too, though I think they translate better as a live outfit than they comes across on 'vinyl'. I think that's got something to do with simplifying the sounds for recording - they don't all need to play at once.

I was struck by how they could build the encore of 'All Your Mother's Daughters' up by sticking 'Na Na Na, Hey Hey, Kiss Him Goodbye' in the middle of it, which is a great sing a long tune and the band does have a xylophone in the repertoire.The pace and tune are not that dissimilar.

It was a triumphant gig in King Tut's - I'm actually old enough to remember it as the 'Saints and Sinners' when I was a yoof. It's an impressive place to have a triumphant gig - when you read the names fitted into the chronological steps on the way into the venue, you know you are climbing the stairway to heaven - and Aerials Up definitely are.

So this is the verdict of one real teenager and one who has never really grown up - evidenced by - and despite the attention being directed at the pretty blonde singer (female) - my inner teenager took a real fancy for the cello player.Will I ever grow up?
