I'm off making an Olympic inspired programme which will air on Ö÷²¥´óÐã Radio Scotland later in the year, so for the next few days the show will be looked after by Alison Craig. She's the poor lass who will wake up at 2am with Moves Like Jagger going through her head.
Tomorrow's theme was prompted by a recent article on the Ö÷²¥´óÐã News webpage which looked into the phenomenon of ultra-catchy song hooks. The article revealed that scientists use a range of terms to describe the subject - stuck-song syndrome, sticky music, and cognitive itch, or most commonly "earworm".
I'm not sure I'm comfortable with leaving you with a cognitive itch, so earworms it is. According to the science boffins, Coldplay, Queen and Abba are among the worst offenders, but who do you think has the stickiest hooks? What are the songs that once they are inside your head never want to leave?

Alison brings another angle to the outcome - more 'rock' orientated than Bryan and possibly even more populist - it'll be interesting to see if we slide backwards. My memory is of Alison working mostly with Babs, so not sure how she'll cope with the relative quiet of the other producers.At least she's a muso, unlike some of the other guest presenters we've had.
