WOW, where to begin!

Do you remember the film Amadeus... it was about Mozart... and can you recall his laugh? It was so loud and annoying. ÌýI have this colleague in my office, a managerÌýactuallyÌýwho laughs so loud and sometimes all day at 5-10 minute intervals. I wouldn't mind but her laugh is so unnaturally loud. I must be the only one who cares because it doesn't seem to bother anybody else. Plus at around 10am every morning my boss sits at her desk after getting breakfast and they become "chatty Cathy coffee hour" and it is so annoying because all you hear is that laugh every 5 minutes! I can't stand it and I've even tried headphones and I still hear her. I am not a manager and it amazes me at how people can chat like that in the office... I bet if I did that I would get A first and final!
Am I being unreasonable?

The obvious ones are Twist And Shout and A Day In The Life by the moptops. You Set The Scene is a rousing finish to a great album but, sadly, as likely to be played as Miss Babs becoming patron of The Noise Abatement Society.

This morning while shaving I suddenly remembered "Tower of Song" by Leonard Cohen, from his 1987 album "I'm Your Man." Like many last songs, it ends the album by leaving nothing left to say and essentially being impossible to follow. I imagine that's true for a lot of great last songs... This should be an interesting show!

You are introducing unnecessary complication. Anyway, this isn't really a 10cc album - half of them have left.

The playing of that Stone Roses mince creates a precedent for 8 minute songs. You Set The Scene by Love is less than 7 minutes and actually contains some music.

Complete agreement on both points, Faither.

Long closing tracks on albums are just as indicative of a lack of ideas as much as indulgent genius.

I know that 'I Am The Resurrection' is tremedously significant within its genre and to 80's kids (like our hero) to whom an eight minute piece of music/track must have seemed a revelation (but is,in fact, ironically, a prog resurrection). However for the disinterested casual listener, it's hard to figure out what all the fuss is about - it just sounds overly long and dated, a bit like A Day In The Life, which also sounds curiously dated, though is not all that long but is, at least, interesting, though I still hate the whole 'reverse orchestra' thing. Twist and Shout sounds more modern.

There are many 8 minute tracks that deserve airplay, but imho, that wasn't one of them.

My ignored shout for Donald Fagan's 2:30 classic 'Walk Between The Raindrops' could have been played 3 times and would still have been more entertaining.
