Producers Holly and Hannah are big lovers. Holly gets wonderful twittering flocks in her garden. We love the colours in this adorable shot.

One of our runners George was blown away by the shots of ladybirds in the Flickr group. When she first saw such big clusters she thought that they must have been staged. We think this capture is a wonderful depiction of their clustering behaviour.

Webmistress Sam is a fungi fan and on recent fungi watching trips has discovered how difficult it is to get good pictures of fungi. This shot impressed her for its clear focus against the soft bokeh.

We've been feeling the weather this week, as our trip to Mull was a very wet one and the blustery winds have been affecting our webcams. It's certainly been getting colder and this crispÌýcapture feels particularly poignant as the fruits of the autumn meet the winter weather.

There's been a waxwing influx across the UK recently and this colourful capture is a favourite around the office this week.

Bugboy Nick Baker joins us this week for a minibeast challenge and we couldn't resist including this fabulous picture. It's not a creature many of us are familiar with!

On last week's show we were really appreciating the natural fireworks of autumn and with photos like this coming into the group we're still enjoying seeing signs of the impending winter. Death has never been so beautiful!

There have been quite a few recently. They're likely to be passing through on their migration to south east Asia and researcher Ruth (a real twitcher) was delighted with this beautiful shot which was taken in Norfolk.
