In pictures: UK butterflies (part three)
The sun's out and so are the butterflies... welcome to the third part of our guide to all the UK's species using photos from the and photo groups. This time it's L-O or large blue to orange tip.
Part one: Adonis to common blue
Part two: Dark green fritillary to holly blue
For a great guide to IDing remember to use Butterfly Conservation's excellent . Type in where you saw it, its size, colour and markings and it will tell you what butterfly you spotted.
BC's Richard Fox's two articles - UK butterflies: Winners and losers and Why the UK's butterflies are in trouble - are a good start if you're interested in more context.
And most importantly of all, the starts on Saturday 16 July. One for all the family to enjoy and help science at the same time.
