my favourite moments from series was when JOHNNY KINGDOM & BILL ODDIE where on the show it came to life just what the doctor ordered .

Have very much enjoyed this series! Was great to see Nick Baker back on our screens albeit for a rather short slot!! (More Nick Baker & bugs please!!! And how George McGavin as a guest sometime? He's brilliant too!)

On the subject of loudest bird voice, surely the wren has to be a good contender? Has anyone measured the loudness of their song? When you consider how small they are!! Can even hear them at the side of the road when you're driving they're so loud!

Another question I have for Chris Packham! He says no creatures do things without a purpose... well why do dolphins ride the bow wave other than for pleasure? Am intrigued to know!

and i would also like to say that last saturday it was our first time ever to see a bittern :D we saw it doing its walk and then we saw it flying over the pool in Kenig NNR :D and in that place there have been at last 5 bitterns there as far as i know :D

Sorry to see the end of yet another great series. Many enjoyable moments throughout, but Martin’s bedazzling blue waistcoat in last week’s programme must surely serve as one of the most outstanding highlights to date.

Can't wait to see what kind of sartorial combination Martin will be sporting tonight!!!

Hi everyone.
I had a male Blue Tit at our feeder two weeks ago. He had a large lesion on his right eye. It was about 25% smaller than his head and very raw in appearance. Is this an injury or a tumour? I am sure I read an article about Blue Tits suffering from some sort of disease. There were no other Blue Tits with him at all.

I'm fairly sure that I saw bats flying around the Chapel Stand at St Marys last Saturday. As they use echolocation, I was wondering how they cope with sheer volume of the crowd, especially after the 3 goals...

Soooooooooo sad that that Autumn watch is coming to and end this is the highlight of our week. Frozen Planet Wednesday then Autumn Watch Friday the content of the programme is so varied, topical and interesting. We love the reports each week from your guests, do you ever have members of the general public give reports?? It was so nice to see Bill Odie back he is such a font of knowledge and I love his wit and humour, (not that yours Chris is not). Martin is looking very much the country gent. Now we are looking forward to springwatch!!!

We have heard the vixen calling in the road outside our house We live at the edge of an estate on the outskirts of the county town!

Favourite bit..? For me, it has to be the Osprey completing it's journey to Africa. Twas emotional.

This has been the best series ever! I adore Kate and have missed her contributions but Michaela has been a gem and balanced the two lads fantstically! Can't bear to think of Fridays without Autumnwatch, but guess I will just have to wait for the return of Springwatch!!

I wrote a sonnet for Christmas, which I thought you might enjoy because it is very apt considering the mildness of this November. It's called "Christmas Gold" and, well, without further ado, here goes: -

What is it that our childhood dreams foretell?
Illusion, which reality belies:
Enthralling images that make hearts swell
Of snowmen, carrot noses, coal for eyes,
The carol singers, Santa hats, mulled wine,
With children dancing, reindeer prancing by.
Through frosted panes a silver moon will shine
On message-bringing angels in the sky.

Now atmospheric change, a warmer earth,
The season, skewed, turned reason on its head;
Made creatures in the autumn - full of mirth,
Renewing springtime vows - build nests instead.

So what warm secret does our future hold?
A promise of the coming... Christmas gold.

I had the most wonderful experience involving foxes almost 10 years ago. The local vixen brought her 4 cubs into the garden to say hello whilst I was clearing up after our wonderful wedding day. They spent 15 minutes leaping around my feet whilst I cleared away glasses and plates. Unfortunately everyone was watching from inside the house and no one thought to take any photos. Best end to a great day.

Do any animals follow visible spoor of prey i.e footprints like the san bushmen and other hunter gatherers not just chemical signs?

The best part for me has got to be when Chris was in the ancient woodland looking at Lichens because it was such a beautiful place to look at one of my favourite organisms, and of course i loved the many charts that Chris made, its always fun to make stuff scientific! BUT I REALLY LOVED IT ALL :)

Too many fantastic moments to mention but the ospreys and the foxes were fantastic! Loving the starlings - its great to hear Martin say they are beautiful, people give me grief for liking them.
Can't imagine what I'm going to do without my weekly dose of AW. Thanks to you all for another stunning series and look forward to the specials. Erm... talking of which you asked what we would like to see on the Christams special... Martin straddling his bike in just a Santa hat would definately make my Christmas! Pleeeeease? Go Itchy and Scratchy - superstars!

The Pitsea foxes travel a few miles onto Canvey Island and they not only come on to the Island at night time but they also walk through the local streets in the daytime, sometimes you can see 3 or 4 foxes walking down our street(Church Parade)
